He pulled him over because he had no reason to go through the light and even have it be that close. He just pulled out of a parking lot and was going slow when it turned yellow. The ONLY time you’re allowed to go through when it’s yellow is if you’re unable to come to a stop safely when it turns yellow before it turns red. You don’t get the entire yellow cycle to speed through the light to make it before it’s red. In this case, dude had no reason to continue through the light, he had to speed up to even barely make it into the intersection when it turned red. That’ll always be seen as running a red light in that case

That’s only for if you’re already at speed and can’t stop in time they allow a little leeway. Of course cops let stuff go, but technically this was 100% a violation and there’s nothing wrong with the cop pulling him over for it
