I really liked the story and world, reminded me of the Pitt from fo3 mixed with Old World Blues from NV. However, the combat/gameplay got annoying at a certain point. And I’m someone who normally enjoys Wasteland 3’s combat with no complaints, but this DLC made the combat a bit tiring if you’re aiming for a pacifist run.
Yeah...I see the 'Wasteland 3 Expansion Pass' on GoG for 20 bucks. DLC #2 will be available in summer. Considering the glitches, the lack of overall depth (which is being addressed by the DLC's, clearly) and the inability to join an in-game faction (hopefully that will change when all is said and done!), I think it's just wise to wait for the inevitable 'Game of the Year' or 'Director's Cut/Super Deluxe Edition' or whatever it will be which contains everything.
@@megamike15 That's too bad. I didn't bother to see what happened with them cuz the main game seemed to be a solid 7-outta-10-ish kinda thing. Honestly, these days, it's gonna take at leash an 8-outta-10, _if_ the subject or setting or _something_ about the game has piqued my interest, to make me drop 60 bucks or so, and then additional drops of 10 to 30 bucks for DLC's follow that. And if I've got the main game, well...of course I'll buy them cuz I'm dumb like that. I read an interview with someone from the Dev Team, and this dude said they had 'heard people's complaints' about the lack of depth in the game, and the DLC's were gonna address that. Allegedly. Didn't happen, huh? This is why I just wait for games like this, the 'almost but not quite' type of games - the ones you would trade in if it was on console - to do the price drop thing. I love turn based, X Com styled combat, so I could see myself spending a crisp 20 dollar bill on a 'Game of the Year' Edition that comes with everything. I'm willing to wait. There's _so many_ great games I haven't played yet. Many, many of them in the 5 to 30 dollar range. More than I could find time to play. Pay full price for this? Nah, man. Just nah. The next game in the series is supposed to _improve_ upon the one prior, not make you miss it. SMH. When the GoTY version inevitably releases, I'll wait for opinions. I could see that being mediocre too. Like maybe they won't fix anything.
@@JohnSmith-mk1rj this might be why larian does not bother doing dlc for their games. it feels lower quality to the rest of the game compared to past rpg dlc.
@@megamike15 They make straight up 9's and 10's though. Lots of entertainment and stuff to keep your busy in their games. Nothing is missing that they're gonna make you pay for, like a lot of other games. Especially on console. Console game publishers love to chop stuff out of games and sell it as Day 1 DLC. That's just a terrible way to make and market games. Sports games can be like gambling with their DLC. At least we don't suffer with lootboxes or buying credits with cash to unwrap virtual card packs to get characters for our RPG's... I can totally live without DLC, come to think of it. Bless Larian.
I love Wasteland 3 and the patches that were recently released (crafting? Finally, a way to het more turrets!), but Steeltown is really sub-par for a DLC.
Non-lethal sounds quite interesting. How does that affect things with the Marshalls, since it's quite hard to get above liked with them & one other faction?
I had to stop playing the dlc. My non-animal companions like the clone, cyborg chicken, and toaster kept killing the workers. I wanted to do the non-lethal route
Hey all. I'm wondering, is a non lethal approach needed to enjoy the dlc or get the best ending? An example of this would be dishonored where you are all but punished for doing a lethal playthrough Will I still have fun playing as a killer? Or is the dlc MEANT TO be played non lethal?
Thanks for the response. I'm strongly considering buying the DLC pack for 20 dollars that comes with both dlcs and stuff and starting a new game. I thought wasteland 3 was incredible. Just making sure I won't be disappointed tho because I'm like....really really poor haha so I'm really afraid to drop 20 dollars
why not mention the most important thing for the people who finished the game and thinking for a new campaign. can we play it from start of new game or do we have to be at certain lvl?

the game had potential butt... they should fix the stealth system. add more perks for each class.also I would like slightly bigger maps and battlegrounds with more flanking options and diverse routes.
Still buggy as hell. I thought they patched the game but no! My companion poultron disapeared... he didnt die. Still crashes when i throw items like the disco bot or a healing Station.... often i was Stuck at the loading screen.. iam happy that i have finished that mess. Lets wait for the other dlc and hopefully they patch the game. Iam so fucking done.

I'd rather have a smaller game with more content. Did you play Wasteland 2? The second part of the game was so empty in comparison to the first half.
I had a solid time with it. Didn't blow me away, but would have been cool to have during my first playthrough.
More the reason to wait for Directors cut or GOTY edition, you only get to experience wl3 first time once.

i have noticed alot of dlc for these type games tend to be pretty lower quality then ones for like say mass effect 2, 3, new vegas, and witcher 3.
@@megamike15 Yea, I was hoping for more but in Steeltown you end up with a new playable point on the map and a ton of mostly useless new weapons.

you go to ranger HQ. there is something like cage /farm house outside. (from the right side of the base.) u store ur pets there or swap them.

I beat the main campaign but when I saw that there were forcefields or shields, I was not feeling it. But soon I will give it a try anyway

It changes things, theres like 4 endings to the DLC, I wouldnt say its MEANT to be played that way

Level 9 so pretty early in the game, old saves will be compatible
