I have been using the half attack system for a couple weeks now. So far it has been working. However Like anything it is not fool proof. What it does is set up the fade for less clean up or at least it has been for me. I can get away with less steps. We have to remember the .5 guard overlaps with a 1 guard. Therefore it will remove a line put in with a 000 open. It will also erase a line put in by a 1 guard that is 1/2 open when the 1/2 guard is fully open. The bottom line is at some point a number 1 guard may be necessary to bridge the gap between the 1 1/2 half open and the 1/2 guard half open. It is mathematics. In essence your 1 guard becomes your eraser which because it is a longer length is more forgiving. I like the system and use it however Like anything else it takes time to figure it out to see exactly what it is doing. Keep up the good work Phil.

Yo bro in a previous video you said to flick at the open taper line into the 1 1/2. In this I see you don’t just flick at the line but you go up say half an inch in a flick out motion on the line and also above to the 1 1/2 is that right?
I’ll go back and rewatch this cut and see why I did it differently, my have been a difference in hair texture. Appreciate your support!

I would hate to even put a time on it, bc it totally very from barber to barber and hair texture or color. Depends on how much you flick out or are robotic in your strokes. I would feel comfortable saying that a fade that may usually take 30 minutes may only take 25 or so.

You can find it cheaper elsewhere. Then I used the Level 3 matte paste,, then top it with Reuzel Clay Spray

Whats the length on top?
It’s as short as I go with using my finger width as the guard. Best guess for me is about 3/4 of and inch to a full inch.
@@TheBarberPhil I normally get mine buzzed with a 5 guard on the top. I just got it cut about a 6 weeks ago. If my hair has grown out this far I am going to see if my barber can pull this look off. I like the choppy style. Just not sure my top is long enough yet.
@@parsonsdiggsdefense7119 after 6 weeks, you should be able to add a little product in it to get some hold. You may try a texture powder.
