Yes i can imagine it was paradise back then in 2001, but sadly as you may be aware and noticed, the island now has been very commercialised and a lot of tourists. Still amazing beaches and snorkelling was brilliant. Walking street so run down (in our opinion). Anyway stay tuned i hope as lots more islands to explore in the deep south of Thailand . You are lucky to be in Asia , there are China Japan , South Korea and Taiwan in the north , and Thailand. Malaysia. Singapore. Philippines and Indonesia in the south , you can have a lot of fun in these countries !

I was in Ko Lipe in 2001 during my honeymoon for 2 weeks. I got my scuba license there. It was paradise back then and not so developed.

Still amazing beaches and snorkelling was brilliant. Walking street so run down (in our opinion).
