This really hits different after seeing Liz and the Blue Bird. I'm looking forward to Season 3 with Kumiko as the buchou but that also definitely means goodbye to this wonderful show.
Reina worried for kumiko..she is so caring for her , I really love this ship even though they are portrayed as best friends..kumirei forever canon in my hearts 🫂🫂
Don't quote me on that but I've heard on MAL the author was pressured into writing a straight ship. Then, with season 2 of the anime, author + animators kinda rebelled (as you know it ended with Kumiko confessing her love to Asuka). However, it seems to me that producers came back to the charge and ordered to pretty much retcon whatever happened with Asuka. Hence the straight ship being unconvincing.
@@PenguinsAreColdish I might have misunderstood. I might also be delusional but I view Kumiko x Asuka as canon if only because it's kinda plausible and could work. Though we shouldn't expect Kyoto Animation to do anything more serious than Aoi Hana level, let alone stuff like one of those manga about the daily life of homosexual couples weeks, months, years after the confession.
@@destroyerinazuma96 well in the movie asuka and kaori have matching rings together and ended up being roommates, so i think it's pretty obvious what's going on there lol anyways, kumiko's confession was absolutely not romantic at all

S3 confirmed since June 1st 2019. However the studio fire happened in July 2019 and then the pandemic hit. Project is likely alive since it is bound to pay for itself, but it's gonna be delayed. Fall 2021 the earliest but if Naoko Yamada asks for an extension the production side should oblige.
