Great video you guys. My husband and I started a junk removal company called Top Junk LLC in PA. I'm driving around doing marketing listening to your videos and learning a lot. Thank you for everything you guys do!

@Beckett Clyde I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I just started my Junk Removal business in N.Y. I had my first big job last week and I was excited. It was a 2 bdrm apartment in a basement that got flooded. Everything had to go. We did it in 8 hours. Me and 3 men. I told him $1600 and I thought my estimate was on point. Lol. My guys made more money then me that day. But as you said. It's a lesson
Love you guys! I've been listening to you for the best 4 hours straight, And just got to the point where you said that you underbid a dirt job, I just got started last week and actually did the same exact thing. So I was happy to hear that it happens And i'm not alone on this boat. Thanks for all these videos and information!❤❤
Bruhhh the moving one is true. The first job I did I worked for a guy in petaluma CA and I told him what I do. I ended up just moving shit to his storage.
@@SonomaStrong yeah the one guy I helped doing it was WAY to picky about his stuff. He paid us by the hour and not per load and I was like well screw this

My kids need new jackets. Could have them embroidered with the business logo and they can advertise when they at schools. Maybe a teacher needs some stuff hauled off one day. This would full under a tax right off for advertising. Lol Also i just ordered some 5.11 face mask on there website. 2 pack mask for $9.99. Going to have them embroidered with the business name on them. They will go good with the 5.11 shirts I've got with the business name on them. Got to love the tax right offs for business. Plus another way advertising the business when walking around in stores or at customers houses. Even got the youths ones for my kids for school. Advertising advertising advertising.
That’s great, it’s a learning experience...you will do better, you can call around and get some ideas what others are charging. For example see what 1-800 got junk charges to fill up a whole load and then be a little cheaper than that. Keep us posted.
im going to take a leap and get into dumpster rental this winter. im buying a tandem axle camper for $250, stripping it down and making it into a dumpster. if i get a good bit of removal jobs over rentals ill see what i can do as i am currently still healing from a herniated disk
I’m studying this channel to learn all I can so I can get into this business and if I do I’m going to that Jojo and Matt personally.. Wish me luck guys🙏💪🏼👌💯✌🏽
Can you do a video outlining insurance cost and how to obtain the correct insurance for what you do. Most people rent dumpsters here in texas but you do trash out and junk removal services.
My struggles at the moment - getting my permanent plates and registration for my dump truck! We're about to be in a situation where the temp plates have expired and the permanent plates won't be in for 10 days. I'm sure as hell not shutting down for 10 days! Not good. Can't believe you had an employee try to undercut you! That's DIRTY!

You guys are keeping real and I appreciate that. I thought your stories were funny about getting through clay soil, pine needles, etc. I have a landscaping business and I know it's some of the hardest work there is. Also, some of my family has a moving business which I worked in. Also some of the hardest work that can be done, trying to carefully carry heavy furniture of a brand new construction home stair case around a tight corner into a narrow bedroom door. lol
Love these videos!!! Starting up my biz soon with a truck and utility trailer then on to pushin buttons baby!! One question I have for you is which biz you went through to get your shirts and hats made?? They look comfy and fly 😎
Hey Matt and JoJo, Love your videos and looking to get started in the Boise Idaho area. I'm thinking of starting out with a heavy duty 14ft dump trailer with weights 4500lbs. I was wondering what your average dump weight is when you have a full load as I am shopping for a truck and trying to figure out if I need to purchase one that can tow over or under 8500lbs. Also, do you guys do business consultation calls or emails? I have some more in depth questions about the biz. Thanks and keep hauling and balling!...
Awesome information guys, I'm truly considering starting a junk removal business this spring mainly because of your videos. Do you give the invoices and receipts to customers only when they ask or do you give them out on every job? Are you planning on going live again so i can hopefully get a few more questions answered and if so when? Thanks a lot for all the knoeledge being shared guys!!!
My struggle for now is not many costumers but i think is to do with Christmas coming and my van is in the garage coz needs some repairs, do you guys slow down on Christmas aswell? By the way i haven't done my Facebook advertise yet only 2500 flyers for now brobably thats why will do Facebook when i get my van on the road
Depending on where you live will determine how much it slows down such as snow etc... it doesn’t slow down that much for us but it does slow down. Do your advertising 😀
What up Matt Vick and the JoJo Lina. I'm out here in PHX Stacking Cash and Tossin Trash, and I have a quick question for you. When you were starting out, did you call around and research comps in and around your area? I've been doing this since December 2021 and recently I've been losing some leads to lower pricing. I do follow your advice about not being afraid to lose cheap customers, but I'm a little worried that my pricing structure is out of line with the market. I don't have set pricing and I usually bid per job, but if it's a full trailer (5x10x4 or 7 yrd dump trailer) full of general garbage or debris I'll charge $375 for a full trailer load. That's with $44 a ton dump fee at my local transfer station. First glance at that garage cleanout you did I would have probably given a ballpark bid of $650 - $800. Would have probably been 2 loads for my trailer. Is that close to what you did the job for or am I way off in either direction? Any info is good info. I look forward to a response. Thanks -Greg
So you are charging about $50 a cubic yard, which sounds about right in our area. It sounds like you called around in your area, does junk king charge about that? Finding your sweet spot for pricing is the hardest part, but you will find it. You don’t want to be the cheapest, you don’t want to be the most expensive, you just want to be somewhere in the competitive range. Don’t get discouraged, we don’t really remember what we did that job for specifically. Good luck to you
@@SonomaStrong Dizzamn that was the quickest response I’ve ever received on TH-cam (my best Matt Vick voice) Not a wonder why you have 20k subscribers. I haven’t actually checked junk king yet. I did check in with a few other junk yard dogs and they are around the same pricing. One more question if possible, do you always do in person estimates? Since this is still a side hustle at the moment, I do a lot of ballpark estimates using pictures of the items to be removed. I’ve been catfished a few times with that though and I charged way less.
You will land more jobs in person, but sometimes you have to quote through pictures. Never give a firm estimate from pictures, pictures are misleading, you can’t tell how heavy bags are, or how deep the pile is or even how large a pile is and what is under the pile (tile etc..) tell them that based off the pictures it will be between this and that, let them know you won’t have a firm price until you see the job in person. Our channel membership walks you through this in more detail, you can look into that. Thanks for watching the videos
I asked because, pricing jobs is not a one size fits all. It matters where you are, your dump fees, income in your populations etc... you can give us a call and maybe we can help with this. In California you can charge more than you can in for example Texas or tenn. feel free to give us a call maybe we can help.
