    Great journey. I am glad that you didn't take the soldier at 3:48 into account. Trust me, this road section from Afyonkarahisar to Ankara is the most boring section even with a car either. I wished to host to tell the story of Ankara and feed you with delicious "Ankara Tava" and "hosmerim" on the way. Keep up the good work mate!

      Thanks! Haha yeah i thought so too. But hey, at least it's easy riding 😀
      I did read up on the soldier, and though, "nope, you're not gonna stop me now". But i also was too tired to go up and take more footage of it.
      Would've loved to learn more about it.
      You know, that's the sad part about travelling so "fast". You're just disconnected form the locals, stressing through, not learning anything.
      Really not my style of travelling i have to admit.
      Much love ❤️

      @@LostSpoke I admire you. What a 100 km/day easy riding😅 FYI, that soldiers' monument (Mehmetcik Aniti) was erected there to remind one of the longest pitched battle in the history (22 days and nights) that took place during the Turkish War of Independence. I wish you all the best for your upcoming kilometers. Cheers✌

    Congratulations!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 It is such a pleasure to watch your adventures and hear your reflections.
    I noticed you mentioned an E. Pratt among your supporters. Is that Ed Pratt, the cyclist who unicycled around the world in three years? If so, I'm so glad he's in your corner. I think both of you are so cool.
    I really resonated with your story of overcoming addiction and going from a sedentary lifestyle to bike touring and smashing goals. I'm at the start of my biking journey. Your journey on and off the bike is an amazing inspiration. Lots of love. ❤🎉❤

      Thank you so much!
      Yeah, it's the one and only Ed Pratt. But full disclosure here, he did not support me in any way financially. The on-the-road-supporter list are people, who massively contributed to the success (?) of my journey in any way, shape or form. Without him, I guess I wouldn't have discovered unicycling and I probably wouldn't have started my youtube channel. He is the only reason I managed to get off my ass and do something.
      That's why I wanted to start my own channel. I know there's more people like me suffering for whatever reasons, who just need some kind of kick in their ass to gather the self confidence and courage to jump over their shadows. I want to provide that "kick in your ass", as he did with me.
      Best of luck on your journey, safe travels, much love ❤️

      @@LostSpoke Thank you so much! Wow, that's great! Ed and his channel are an inspiration to me, too. ❤❤❤

    Congratulations on finally succeeding in your challenge!
    Still loving your style of documenting your journey, and especially the gorgeous pictures you take on the way. I hope you continue having a great time and meeting such wonderful people on the road.
    And about the different distances people travel... Well. It always amazes me to see how vastly different travel styles and priorities can be, even with the same mode of travel, much less when you vary that, too. I love how everyone can find something that works for them, and yet there's a sense of cameraderie if you meet someone on the road whose style is vastly different. For me, that's just about as interesting as meeting locals, and I love that you document both along your journey and stay open to joining upnwith people and trying out their approach even if it's different from yours.

      Thanks mate! You know, in hindsight, 1000km wasn't even that much 😅
      I know, right? Doing the same thing, yet somehow the exact opposite. For me, meeting other cyclists and hearing about their stories is some of the most rewarding about cycle touring.
      It also gives me a nice change to my travel style, new insights, techniques, tricks and whatnot.

    congratulations on reaching your personal goal!
    you should consider making your bike faster by removing weight and putting faster tires on the bike

    • @LostSpoke
      @LostSpoke  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There's hardly any weight i can (or rather want to) reduce and i couldn't find any faster tires along the way. At some point i just accepted it 😅
      Now i look at it as better training :)

    love your videos, watched a lot of them, one suggestion to have a broader audience is, reorder "about" section, I think most people would like to learn more about details of the video rather than the overall goal first, just an idea, keep it up boss

    • @LostSpoke
      @LostSpoke  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks man! Yeah good call, i might have to rethink the entire intro section. It's just way too long.

    What is model of your bike ?

    • @LostSpoke
      @LostSpoke  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's a Trek Marlin 4. A bike which is not at all made for such a trip, but it works nonetheless.

  • @RachelPash
    @RachelPash 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It doesn't look as if you are, but are you carrying too much weight? I saw another dude get two punctures in just a few miles and he was way overburdened for the bike's maximum load.

    • @LostSpoke
      @LostSpoke  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes the bike is really heavy, yet within the limits. All of the punctures i had were due to steel wire from truck tires.
      I think the only bicycle tire that can handle this is the Schwalbe Marathon Plus, which i couldn't find for my bike.
      I'm just gonna live with it until my current tires are end of life.. :)
