However, it is a beautiful thing to peer into a world that could be if we all came together instead of take from one another. Id like to think that a world like that could be possible. I think most of us would.

But the whole point of her story existing is to talk about a topic that needs to be discussed (and to explore how it contributed to generational trauma), so it almost feels like prettying-up her story would cheapen it, even if I desperately want her to have a better conclusion.

A bit too generic, naive, twee and sickly seet for my tastes but... they're just my tastes. I'm sure most Renegades will love it! :) Unfortunately, I think if Ren had written a song like this, no one would be talking about it, never mind writing songs in response. Mind you, the charts are full of such fare, if that's your thing. It's just not mine and I prefer to be honest. On all 4 videos I made I put that it was AI in the description and made sure it appeared above the "More" link to show more so it was obvious and people didn't have to expand the description to see that. Although I've only viewed the video on my PC, maybe it looks different and not as apparent when viewed on a phone? I just now moved the AI part into the first line of the description, thanks for the advice!
Its such a breather, so peaceful comforting, almost the opposite of the original, Ren makes it Chaotic violent, hopeless... and i really liked that but i like this version a bit more though... thank you Renegade.

Thanks! I did play around with another story where they meet at a Ren concert, lol, and locked eyes and felt a connection and see themselves in each others' faces. Richard was also there, helping to reunite them. And "Fate" played a hand as well, nudging them all together. They both had pictures of their mother from their childhood, the same picture, and they brought out the photo when they met at Ren's concert and realized their connection. BUT, yeah, the story kinda fell apart in some places and I couldn't get all the details in under 4-minutes with limited verses and chorus, etc... but maybe I'll pursue that idea again sometime :). Anyhow, thanks! :)

Some forget that there is hope out there and this shines a light on those private moments between 2 ppl lost. It resonates w me bc ive experienced something like it. It by no means subtracts anything from the original tales and doesnt come off as a push to change it. A what if, is something we all think about. This was well thought out and beautfully executed. OMG!! I've been telling about anyone who will listen that I have found the modern day Bob Dylan in Ren.. an artist who can't be pigeonholed into a genre.. an artist who makes you think and stimulates necessary conversations.. I now think I've found the new Joan Baez!!! This was beautiful and brilliantly performed.. had a bit of a Eminem lose yourself in the moment flow.. but a wonderful kind and thoughtful vibe to it.. a beautiful alternative to this song.. it is a interesting way to look at it, perhaps had Jenny been a person who had got past that trauma, perhaps this would have been her response in that moment.. perhaps she'd have found that courage to speak to this boy she relates to far beyond their knowing at the time.. she breaks her silence like her mom did to save her and her brothers lives that night.. in breaking her silence she would also break the cycle and in doing so reaches James on a personal level.. I love this.. now by breaking that cycle she connects with him.. they have a conversation that gives them both a new start instead of having that moment end their story.. it instead gives them a new beginning.. breaking the cycle brought on by their parents.. wow.. just wow.. I am impressed I felt it compliments the original piece while still being its own amazing piece of art. Is this your song? I'm assuming it is.. whoever it is.. BROVO!!

Your first response is genuine, regardless of how it was created, and yes I did put about 6 hours into this, going back and forth with multiple AI tools to create this, so it does have influence from me, it's not just clicking an AI button and posting the results without vetting what it generated :). Honestly, I'd say it's probably 75% AI, 25% my direction and input and influence. Anyhow, thanks again for your thoughts :). I'm 49 and trying to keep up with all the advances in tech and enjoying every minute of it, sounds like you're ready for that as well.
Thanks, just to be clear the voice is AI as the video description says but I did put a lot of effort into finding the right mood and feel for the song that matched the tone I wanted the song to have. Same actors ... same set ... a "What if" an "Wouldn't it be nice if" ... something to say that whilst what is, it doesn't mean we have to have it like that, have to keep it like that. Beautiful work.

yep yep, it is indeed, though a human (me) spent about 4-5 hours working with the AI to fine-tune and tweak the generation to fit the outcome I wanted. :) Thanks for your comment!
Hi, I'm glad you liked it! It was cooperative effort with AI. The process went like this: I tell AI the premise for the story I want to tell, and it generates some lyrics. I go back and forth with it for about an hour, correcting it's inaccuracies and giving it more background story until it makes something that fits the narrative I want to convey. Then for the music, I prompt Suno for the mood and feel I want in the song. I went thru about a dozen different song generations, fine tuning my prompt until something fit the sound and vocals (AI, not me) that I wanted. There were some problems near the end of the song, so I had to regenerate the ending like 5 times, then splice together a few parts in an audio editor. The plop the video on top of it and make sure everything fades out properly at the end. Thanks for asking, I made sure that "AI Created" was in the description without needing to click the 'more' link as it's not my intention to fool anyone, but this did take some effort to make more than just letting AI do everything generically :).

I basically had to educate the AI on the backstory several times and tell it what was wrong factually with the lyrics a few times. Also, the AI kept wanting to make Jenny and Screech fall in love like Han Solo and Princess Leia, and that wasn't what I wanted so I had to ask it to regenerate a few verses to be more appropriate for the situation at hand. So that was basically the process for the lyrics. For the music I generated about 12 different songs and picked one that fit the mood I was after. The ending was glitched at first and I had to regenerate the ending about 5 times and then splice it together in an audio editor, then overlay the video so it aligned up and faded out at the same time. It's very beautiful and it's very good, but it's like trying to duplicate a Picasso Ren worked very hard on what he does and you kind of stole from him in a way. If you think about it, I mean, you are very good and you should be your own music and don't piggyback other people. I love to hear something original from you.

The point is to explore other possibilities with the story. AI provides ideas, various lyrics, I give it feedback and background information, it generates ideas based on the plot I want it to tell. Then I find the right mood of melody and genre to fit the lyrics properly with the rhythm and sound I want. I toss it all into a waveform editor and spliced together 3 different sections from multiple generations of a song. I toss out some parts that were generated, then add fade-out effects. Then generate multiple thumbnails, directing the AI to try different angles until I get one I feel is appropriate. Toss that into photoshop and add the title and some text effects. Then export the Video from SUNO and put it into a video editor and mute the original audio so I can overlap the spliced together track I put together earlier. Then add fade-out effects to the video to coincide with the audio track. So, it's not "just" AI :). Thanks for comment though, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Your second sentence is completely true, the original is perfect on it's own. Variations of a story can co-exist in the same universe on their own with no effect on each other. Mine's just an inspired derivative, thanks to Ren's inspirational music/art catalogue. It's just artistic exploration and imagination, that's all. In the same way that fan fiction does not detract from the original cannon it is derived from... this is just meant to provide an alternate universe option that is in some ways still tragic...While yes, Jenny may be slightly more assertive in this version... it is still sad that James admits he "used to have dreams" but he doesnt vow to leave his life on the streets, he doesn't find out Jenny is his sister and they life happily ever after. He gets one mild form of redemption and that spared his life and keeps Richard from having to take the life of a young boy that night.

@@Renegade-x7x It sounds like a generic Suno song. The melody sounds uninspired and the lyrics remind me of a country pop song written by children. I'm not fond of fan fiction to start with honestly, especially when it's sort of rewriting such a masterpiece. It's the total opposite of everything the original is. The original is extremely well written and performed, while this is not, and not even performed, just generated. I have been playing around with both Suno and Udio and I have a hard time understanding how this could have taken 6 hours. If you had written this, both the lyrics and composed the melody and chord progression yourself, I wouldn't have said anything, but I know what goes into making these AI songs as well as how it is to write, record and produce music from nothing. Using Suno and ChatGPT isn't making music and most musicians does not appreciate AI made music. I always feel bad when criticizing other peoples work, but when I know it's made by AI, I don't mind. Remember, this isn't your song, only your prompts. Prompts based on other peoples work even. I hope that helped!
Fair enough, I appreciate your detailed review. The reason it took hours is because of the revising of the lyrics that GPT kept getting wrong, and regeneration of music and editing. GPT seems to have 'some' awareness of the song and it's story, but it made a lot of factual mistakes on the characters and their relationships and kept trying to throw Violet into the mix, so I had to give it the backstory of the tale and more details until it properly "understood" the original tale and the dynamics of the relationships. Suno is pretty fun to play around with, but yeah I did have to generate about 12 different songs until one "felt" appropriate for the story, and even then it exceeded the 4-minute limit so the ending was cut-off which was a real bummer, so I had to regenerate the last 20 seconds about 5 times until one matched closely, then go into Audacity and try to line up the track properly and overlay the last little bit, then slow-down-and-extend the last bit so it had time to fade out properly and not just cut off sharply. And the video was only 4 minutes, so a tiny bit of editing on the end to get the audio and video to fade out together properly. The thumbnail is AI of course, with the text being done in Paint.net (get program for simple tasks). So that was the process and why it took a few hours over the course of 2 nights to put it all together. I made sure to put that it was AI created in the description (on all 4 songs), above the fold (and moved to the first line last week) so it was clear right off the bat, though I didn't realize until just a few nights ago that mobile users don't see the description at all, so I moved 'AI' into the title a few days ago. Anyhow, thanks again for your more detailed feedback, I appreciate it. have a groovy day!

Thanks! I did play around with another story where they meet at a Ren concert, lol, and locked eyes and felt a connection and see themselves in each others' faces. Richard was also there, helping to reunite them. And "Fate" played a hand as well, nudging them all together. They both had pictures of their mother from their childhood, the same picture, and they brought out the photo when they met at Ren's concert and realized their connection. BUT, yeah, the story kinda fell apart in some places and I couldn't get all the details in under 4-minutes with limited verses and chorus, etc... but maybe I'll pursue that idea again sometime :). Anyhow, thanks! :)

OMG!! I've been telling about anyone who will listen that I have found the modern day Bob Dylan in Ren.. an artist who can't be pigeonholed into a genre.. an artist who makes you think and stimulates necessary conversations.. I now think I've found the new Joan Baez!!! This was beautiful and brilliantly performed.. had a bit of a Eminem lose yourself in the moment flow.. but a wonderful kind and thoughtful vibe to it.. a beautiful alternative to this song.. it is a interesting way to look at it, perhaps had Jenny been a person who had got past that trauma, perhaps this would have been her response in that moment.. perhaps she'd have found that courage to speak to this boy she relates to far beyond their knowing at the time.. she breaks her silence like her mom did to save her and her brothers lives that night.. in breaking her silence she would also break the cycle and in doing so reaches James on a personal level.. I love this.. now by breaking that cycle she connects with him.. they have a conversation that gives them both a new start instead of having that moment end their story.. it instead gives them a new beginning.. breaking the cycle brought on by their parents.. wow.. just wow.. I am impressed I felt it compliments the original piece while still being its own amazing piece of art. Is this your song? I'm assuming it is.. whoever it is.. BROVO!!

Your first response is genuine, regardless of how it was created, and yes I did put about 6 hours into this, going back and forth with multiple AI tools to create this, so it does have influence from me, it's not just clicking an AI button and posting the results without vetting what it generated :). Honestly, I'd say it's probably 75% AI, 25% my direction and input and influence. Anyhow, thanks again for your thoughts :). I'm 49 and trying to keep up with all the advances in tech and enjoying every minute of it, sounds like you're ready for that as well.

Thanks, just to be clear the voice is AI as the video description says but I did put a lot of effort into finding the right mood and feel for the song that matched the tone I wanted the song to have. Hi, I'm glad you liked it! It was cooperative effort with AI. The process went like this: I tell AI the premise for the story I want to tell, and it generates some lyrics. I go back and forth with it for about an hour, correcting it's inaccuracies and giving it more background story until it makes something that fits the narrative I want to convey. Then for the music, I prompt Suno for the mood and feel I want in the song. I went thru about a dozen different song generations, fine tuning my prompt until something fit the sound and vocals (AI, not me) that I wanted. There were some problems near the end of the song, so I had to regenerate the ending like 5 times, then splice together a few parts in an audio editor. The plop the video on top of it and make sure everything fades out properly at the end. Thanks for asking, I made sure that "AI Created" was in the description without needing to click the 'more' link as it's not my intention to fool anyone, but this did take some effort to make more than just letting AI do everything generically :).

GPT generated a BUNCH of lyrics and it often got the story WAY wrong, like thinking Violet was jenny's sister and stuff. I basically had to educate the AI on the backstory several times and tell it what was wrong factually with the lyrics a few times. Also, the AI kept wanting to make Jenny and Screech fall in love like Han Solo and Princess Leia, and that wasn't what I wanted so I had to ask it to regenerate a few verses to be more appropriate for the situation at hand. So that was basically the process for the lyrics. For the music I generated about 12 different songs and picked one that fit the mood I was after. The ending was glitched at first and I had to regenerate the ending about 5 times and then splice it together in an audio editor, then overlay the video so it aligned up and faded out at the same time. It was a bit of a process, lol, not just a click of a button and then done :). Thanks for commenting!!

It's very beautiful and it's very good, but it's like trying to duplicate a Picasso Ren worked very hard on what he does and you kind of stole from him in a way. If you think about it, I mean, you are very good and you should be your own music and don't piggyback other people. I love to hear something original from you.

The point is to explore other possibilities with the story. AI provides ideas, various lyrics, I give it feedback and background information, it generates ideas based on the plot I want it to tell. Then I find the right mood of melody and genre to fit the lyrics properly with the rhythm and sound I want. I toss it all into a waveform editor and spliced together 3 different sections from multiple generations of a song. I toss out some parts that were generated, then add fade-out effects. Then generate multiple thumbnails, directing the AI to try different angles until I get one I feel is appropriate. Toss that into photoshop and add the title and some text effects. Then export the Video from SUNO and put it into a video editor and mute the original audio so I can overlap the spliced together track I put together earlier. Then add fade-out effects to the video to coincide with the audio track.
So, it's not "just" AI :). Thanks for comment though, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Your second sentence is completely true, the original is perfect on it's own. Variations of a story can co-exist in the same universe on their own with no effect on each other. Mine's just an inspired derivative, thanks to Ren's inspirational music/art catalogue. It's just artistic exploration and imagination, that's all. In the same way that fan fiction does not detract from the original cannon it is derived from... this is just meant to provide an alternate universe option that is in some ways still tragic...While yes, Jenny may be slightly more assertive in this version... it is still sad that James admits he "used to have dreams" but he doesnt vow to leave his life on the streets, he doesn't find out Jenny is his sister and they life happily ever after. He gets one mild form of redemption and that spared his life and keeps Richard from having to take the life of a young boy that night.

I'm not fond of fan fiction to start with honestly, especially when it's sort of rewriting such a masterpiece. It's the total opposite of everything the original is. The original is extremely well written and performed, while this is not, and not even performed, just generated.
I have been playing around with both Suno and Udio and I have a hard time understanding how this could have taken 6 hours.
If you had written this, both the lyrics and composed the melody and chord progression yourself, I wouldn't have said anything, but I know what goes into making these AI songs as well as how it is to write, record and produce music from nothing. Using Suno and ChatGPT isn't making music and most musicians does not appreciate AI made music.
I always feel bad when criticizing other peoples work, but when I know it's made by AI, I don't mind. Remember, this isn't your song, only your prompts. Prompts based on other peoples work even.

Fair enough, I appreciate your detailed review. The reason it took hours is because of the revising of the lyrics that GPT kept getting wrong, and regeneration of music and editing. GPT seems to have 'some' awareness of the song and it's story, but it made a lot of factual mistakes on the characters and their relationships and kept trying to throw Violet into the mix, so I had to give it the backstory of the tale and more details until it properly "understood" the original tale and the dynamics of the relationships. Suno is pretty fun to play around with, but yeah I did have to generate about 12 different songs until one "felt" appropriate for the story, and even then it exceeded the 4-minute limit so the ending was cut-off which was a real bummer, so I had to regenerate the last 20 seconds about 5 times until one matched closely, then go into Audacity and try to line up the track properly and overlay the last little bit, then slow-down-and-extend the last bit so it had time to fade out properly and not just cut off sharply. And the video was only 4 minutes, so a tiny bit of editing on the end to get the audio and video to fade out together properly. The thumbnail is AI of course, with the text being done in Paint.net (get program for simple tasks). So that was the process and why it took a few hours over the course of 2 nights to put it all together. I made sure to put that it was AI created in the description (on all 4 songs), above the fold (and moved to the first line last week) so it was clear right off the bat, though I didn't realize until just a few nights ago that mobile users don't see the description at all, so I moved 'AI' into the title a few days ago.
