  • Edit: The routing is still the same but I have the flow backwards. The nipple on the back of the head goes out to the heater core then into the hard pipe and up to the water pump.
First half is for deleting the stock oil cooler off of your 1JZ, 2nd part 6:35 is showing where the coolant lines will go when you are swapping this engine into something other than it came in.

Lol I have the flow backwards, you can still connect the lines the way I described it but the flow goes out of the back of the head and into the hard line. Also the oil cooler flow comes out of the block, goes through the cooler then into the hard pipe and back around to the water pump. 🤦Oops...

Hey bro great video... quick question what size it’s the return line because I want to by a bolt and block mine

You talking about the oil cooler return on the block?

Nice video what is inlet to oil cooler? The metal line or the block side?

    • @Otto_Factory
      @Otto_Factory  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Inlet would be the block side, outlet is the hard line.

@@Otto_Factory Ok so it's out the hard line to heater core then to back of head correct.

Yes, the flow is reversed but as long as the heater core is the hard line to the head, it will work.

Thanks for the explanation, there's another weird coolant line that goes into the pcv valve, would you know to remove that line? Or what's the purpose?

    • @Otto_Factory

The pcv should go from the cam cover to the intake manifold, you sure you're looking at the right line?

If you aren’t running heat would you just block off all the water lines you showed ?

    • @Otto_Factory

I believe the line out of the back of the head and the one that returns to the back of the water pump need to be connected, all the small stuff on the oil filter side can get capped off.

@@Otto_Factory I do not recommend deleting the oem oilcooler or heater core and just connecting the hoses like mentioned. If there is no resistance in the loop you will basically just pump water around your engine. Also I would not block the line leaving the head because of air getting trapped. Therefore, block the waterport on the block from the oilcooler and keep the return from the head back to the waterpump but add a restrictor (3mm) to it so air can evacuate.

Is this the same for a 1jz nonvvti?

    • @Otto_Factory

      I don't know, I'd imagine it's close but I can't say as I've never worked on a non vvti
