This may sound like a stupid question but could you do a video focusing on the sciatica/ Lower back? Im not a massage therapist but I always have pain down there and I'd just be curious to see how you deal with it. Thanks!
Brandon P. Look up some piriformis stretches & try some of those out. Yoga routines for low back pain, anything like that. Wouldn’t hurt to see a Chiro & a massage therapist if you’re able to do so. Both work well together.
Stretch your psoas! Lower back pain is caused by either lifting heavy objects frequently, or sitting frequently. If you sit frequently, stretch your psoas, quads, and piriformis. And strengthen glutes and core muscles. The condition is called anterior pelvic tilt, or lower cross syndrome
I absolutely love your videos Spencer!! I can’t thank you enough for sharing!! As a fellow massage therapist, I find them very helpful in reminding me of various awesome techniques, as well as showing me new techniques to incorporate in my massages. I frequently watch some of your videos before my massages so I can learn and grow as a therapist and be able to help my clients in exactly the way their body needs 😊
I feel like any of your thumb downs are just from people that got into a sleepy trance and accidentally hit the 👎 because they were inebriated by your serenade.
I am seriously considering becoming a massage therapist, and I'm so nervous to change career paths incase it isn't all it's cracked up to be. I have very delicate hands and worry about if I'm strong enough too, but I loved your advise on the other video, to make sure you prioritise self care! How do you find it mentally challenging?
What is the best way to know if a particular therapist knows these very masterful techniques? I've had some deep tissue work that left me in prolonged discomfort. I didn't know what to ask for or how to know if it was being done correctly. Perhaps being more communicative with my therapists along the journey of pressure. Any guidance you can offer?
@@leannsarmousakis5902 Thanks Leann. Yes, such a simple thing, of course. Specifically, however, I'm curious if there is some signifier, credential, etc that tell me a particular therapist knows what they're doing. I've had little to no repeat sessions with therapists over the years. Cheers for responding :)
@@direct2miguel Unfortunately I would say no. There are good schools, good teachers, and less good schools and less good teachers, and also good students and less good students. That gives a lot of possible combinations. Because we don't have a real legal structure, anybody can do anything. And you have a lot of LMT pretending they know a lot, but in reality they don't. I've been a LMT for 20 years now. I watch massages videos since TH-cam exists, and I would say that an average of 90% of videos about massage are BS. Best way to find a good LMT is "word-of-mouth".
How long does it take to fully relive someone who has years worth of neck and back knots which have cause endless eye strain headaches, bad upper tension in the shoulders around the neck behind the ears.
The knuckle technique is legit, as well as the long strokes on the back. When my husbands back is aching after traveling...I will do this for him and he literally drools and falls asleep within minutes of it.
I need this massage!!! I cannot find a massage therapist that can get deep enough. I was in a car accident 3 years ago and still have not found relief!
Cierra if you had a WPS from this crash and suffer from TOS it can can take a hell of long time to heal, also a good Chiropractor could help along with deep tissue and stretching .... it’s hard to diagnose without being able to do test ROM or palpating the attaching muscles ...
Hi! I’m a massage therapist and I want to know more of essentials oils and hoe can be use for a healing massage and other uses for a therapeutic massage. Thanks for your amazing video and techniques! 🙏🏼😊
Only get deep tissue if you need it, they take an assessment of your body. Then see fit with you if need one of not. Deep tissue is for to target specific muscle areas, and reduce your pain levels from when you first came in. :)
Levator attaches to C1 to C4 AND the superior angle. So anatomy books say: The superior angle of the scapula or medial angle, is formed by the junction of the superior and medial borders of the scapula. The superior angle is located at the approximate level of the second thoracic vertebra. The superior angle of the scapula is thin, smooth, rounded, and inclined somewhat lateralward, and gives attachment to a few fibers of the levator scapulae muscle. Its old name was "angular scapula".
I seriously want to be on your table. I use some of your techniques during my sessions. Thank you!
This is very relaxing. Super calming to watch.
I subbed because of that lotion dispenser, the true star of your videos!
U deserved a like from him for this

Your viedo are good..clearly to point..not much talk...I love it
I need that for my shoulder and neck pain
Good pointer on not using so much of your thumb, really important to save your thumbs!
Absolutely. That was one of the most important things I took away from studying massage - teachers were always keen to stress it, and rightly so.
It’s so relaxing seems like I’m the one who’s laying down there😊
Hope I can experience that massage someday..
Oh my God...I need this right now!
Where did you get your oil holder and table sheets from?
Love these vids!

Does deep tissue hurt? I know it can be very beneficial but I’m a big baby and don’t want to hurt 🤷🏼♀️
SugarSaladSandwich deep tissue doesn’t necessarily mean deep pressure. Just got to get with a therapist that knows what they are doing
