Christine Holgate ‘abysmally’ treated but not owed apology by board: Australia Post chair

Australia Post chair Lucio Di Bartolomeo has told a Senate inquiry that former CEO Christine Holgate was treated ‘abysmally’ but does not deserve an apology from the board. Holgate was stood aside while an investigation was carried out into her gift of designer watches to senior executives. Di Bartolomeo said Holgate had chosen to voluntarily stand aside although Holgate had told the inquiry this was not the case. Greens senator and committee chair Sarah Hanson-Young asked Di Bartolomeo whether it was right to ‘hound’ Christine Holgate out of her job. 'We did not hound her out of a job,’ Di Bartolomeo says. ‘But you didn't stand up for her did you?’ Hanson-Young responds
