I remember watching this whole thing as it was happening and what also was happening “behind the scenes”. That whole ordeal isn’t really something where I want to mention the douchebags name and give him any clicks, but Michael handled all that well and jackass only made an ass out of himself. RetroBlasting did what Hasbro should’ve done and this earned a lifetime fan from me.

You are correct...this is not Brent's fault, BUT it's not Hasbro's either. Hasbro has no obligation whatsoever to make items available to other countries. NONE. There are plenty of overseas items not available in the U.S. Godzilla, Transformers, etc. that U.S. customers must find a way to obtain. That's life. You can't always get what you want.
Finally, somebody I can agree with in the comments. This situation sucks, but International collectors knew the risk of backing the barge as it was offered only in US and Canada. Hasbro delivered the item in US. The problem is the shipping company that did not offer any viable solution to Brent so he can get his item in Australia

Really touching. As a collector nothing is worse than losing an item due to constrictions outside of your control. This is why I love this channel. I say screw the set, don't review. I sympathize with Brent. Country/Continent... heck, even comic con exclusives only accomplish one thing in the end - separating people from toys. Sure, it's nice to have some sort of exclusivity with certain items (such as this sail barge) however, situations like this are why I've turned my back on Hasbro... I hope he gets his barge soon enough. I'm sure he was so excited at the opportunity to own one - and to be put through enough hell to be willing to just give it away must be rough. Hasbro's exclusives are out of control. It's nearly impossible to find these outside the US. And it's not like it's just 1 or 2 exclusives a year.. the 6" Black Series is almost 50% exclusives!

As for what to do, I think the easiest thing would be to start a Go Fund Me of your own to get Brent his Sail Barge shipped down to him. With 52,000+ followers, even if everyone tossed in a **nickel**... just 5 freaking cents.... you'd have more than enough to send him the Barge. Times are tough for lots of collectors right now and we all have things we're seeking, but when we see a selfless act like Brent's, to offer to donate a $500 toy just so he doesn't have to go further into the hole on a toy (in part, thanks to his global location not being considered accessible enough for HasLabs), well, it's time for us to take care of our own. I think Hasbro offered the sail barge to people outside of the US via an ebay listing that was limited to like 400 units. It was not very publicized and they should have done a better job getting it overseas. It's super cool that you are going to help him out and I'm glad, at the very least, that you saved it from the garbage.

When I smiled in the last Star Wars Follies I was criticized for doing so. Now we're back to me not smiling enough again. You positivity chucklehouses need to agree on the rules. In the meantime, Brie Larson and I will be over here making the faces we want to make.
I give Brent a lot of credit for being willing to donate such an item to the Retroblasting archives. Way to go Retroblasting for being willing to do what Hasbro won't. Hasbro really has been sucking lately.
My only thought is to send it in pieces but I have no idea how large they are or if it would only further the cost. As far as reviewing, as tempting and how much I would like to see one, you would still have to disassemble it being more trouble than it’s worth. Just go with your gut. The first idea is usually the best decision
You left one thing off. This is also Australia's fault. Their import tariffs are one of the reasons this product can't be shipped. It makes receiving this package uneconomical. The UK/EU are similar.
This is partly why I love Retroblasting. While I might not agree on all opinions made, I remain open to it all. Doing this for Brent is something admirable and in the world we live in today, this is a shining example of just the good decency in people. Live the channel Mike and Melinda. Excellent video and I fully agree with your opinions. I’ve been collecting Star Wars toys since 1977 and I passed on the barge. It was so wrong on so many levels that I could not buy this toy. Thanks again and looking forward to the journey of Brent’s barge.

Its so hard to get good collectibles here in OZ. Even worse in South Australia here most collectible stores have closed, only leaving some on the East Coast. Hope it all works out in the end. Fixing other peoples mistakes is messed up. But Brent found a guy that will try, not just take free stuff.
Hey Mike, I'm in Sydney Australia & do agree that Haslab has treated us International collectors very porrly with the Barge. I was one of the MERE 400 who were lucky enough to win a Barge in the eBay "International Rush" on 28th Mar '19 so am VERY happy to add this to my collection - though it has cost me Au $1040 (~US$710), way more that US/Canada rate. Aside - Hasbro also LIED by saying they would list up on their channels the eBay link "at least one week in advance" - this never happened ! I do feel for Brent, being a fellow Aussie, but I have to point out that Haslab DID confirm the size of the Box (& gross weight) BEFORE the end of the Kickstarter Campaign - I know because the details were shown on the Haslab website plus MyUS (a US 3rd party carrier) confirmed to me they could ship such a large box - so I even joined their service in preparation. In the end however the delay out to Feb 2019 made costs prohibitive plus Haslab rejected my Aussie VISA card at checkout anyway. I do hope Brent gets his Barge, and think what you are trying to do is highly commendable, so credos ... and sure, never give up, but always TRY to think things through ..... especially where mucho $$$ are involved ie: Tip for us Aussies -> confirm International shipping feasibility & cost first -> THEN commit to buy a product (vs the other way around).
Guys like you and Brent are what keep collecting fun. Yea, it's aggrevating what hasbro does, but the community coming together is what's good and fun. I wouldn't review it (if it is good it would help hasbro). Donations are a good idea for shipping cost.

Hasbro is a very dark shadow of its former self that we had in the 80s and 90s and it is shame that they will not even do anything about this (except if they get a lot of bad PR about this.) I don't think we really need another review. There are plenty of reviews out there already. I considered getting one, but I just wasn't that into that vehicle/ship. It didn't resonate with me.
Definitely just send it to Brent he deserves it for how long its been. This type of stuff shouldn’t be happening to any toy collector. Love the video you guys are awesome.
Only thing I can think of is open it up and see if you can take it apart to send it in bits. Also, carefully take apart the box and flat pack it as well. Good luck !
I think if you have it there reviewing it is best for all collectors but if you can get it to Brent quickly the review is not important enough to delay shipping for him. You are doing the right thing and I'm applauding you for it but your right this isn't heroic or altruistic it's just the right and fair thing to do thank you for this video you make reasoned arguments here and in most if not all your videos that show your care and loyalty to collecting and the community as a whole thanks again.
Micheal is there any way to take the Barge apart, I know some of the side panels come off, but I think some of it is held together by screws, I do not really know, if so you could then ship it in smaller boxes, in a few installments- love your videos

My only thought is to send it in pieces but I have no idea how large they are or if it would only further the cost. As far as reviewing, as tempting and how much I would like to see one, you would still have to disassemble it being more trouble than it’s worth. Just go with your gut. The first idea is usually the best decision

You left one thing off. This is also Australia's fault. Their import tariffs are one of the reasons this product can't be shipped. It makes receiving this package uneconomical. The UK/EU are similar.

Excellent video and I fully agree with your opinions. I’ve been collecting Star Wars toys since 1977 and I passed on the barge. It was so wrong on so many levels that I could not buy this toy. Thanks again and looking forward to the journey of Brent’s barge.

Good luck to Brent hope you get it one way or another one Aussie and Star Wars fan to another. If I had a job I would throw in to help. As long as I could come round and play with you. Its so hard to get good collectibles here in OZ. Even worse in South Australia here most collectible stores have closed, only leaving some on the East Coast. Hope it all works out in the end. Fixing other peoples mistakes is messed up. But Brent found a guy that will try, not just take free stuff.

Hey Mike, I'm in Sydney Australia & do agree that Haslab has treated us International collectors very porrly with the Barge. I was one of the MERE 400 who were lucky enough to win a Barge in the eBay "International Rush" on 28th Mar '19 so am VERY happy to add this to my collection - though it has cost me Au $1040 (~US$710), way more that US/Canada rate. Aside - Hasbro also LIED by saying they would list up on their channels the eBay link "at least one week in advance" - this never happened ! I do feel for Brent, being a fellow Aussie, but I have to point out that Haslab DID confirm the size of the Box (& gross weight) BEFORE the end of the Kickstarter Campaign - I know because the details were shown on the Haslab website plus MyUS (a US 3rd party carrier) confirmed to me they could ship such a large box - so I even joined their service in preparation. In the end however the delay out to Feb 2019 made costs prohibitive plus Haslab rejected my Aussie VISA card at checkout anyway. I do hope Brent gets his Barge, and think what you are trying to do is highly commendable, so credos ... and sure, never give up, but always TRY to think things through ..... especially where mucho $$$ are involved ie: Tip for us Aussies -> confirm International shipping feasibility & cost first -> THEN commit to buy a product (vs the other way around).

Guys like you and Brent are what keep collecting fun. Yea, it's aggrevating what hasbro does, but the community coming together is what's good and fun. I wouldn't review it (if it is good it would help hasbro). Donations are a good idea for shipping cost.

Michael, you deserve the Rebel medal for what you are doing and kept your integrity on doing what was right about all of this. I agree with Sal about letting the fans helping Brent and your guys doing the right thing in letting Brent finally get the box and opening it. Hasbro is a very dark shadow of its former self that we had in the 80s and 90s and it is shame that they will not even do anything about this (except if they get a lot of bad PR about this.) Anyway, I m glad there are people still with integrity like you guys at RB
I don't think we really need another review. There are plenty of reviews out there already. I considered getting one, but I just wasn't that into that vehicle/ship. It didn't resonate with me.

Only thing I can think of is open it up and see if you can take it apart to send it in bits. Also, carefully take apart the box and flat pack it as well. Good luck !

I think if you have it there reviewing it is best for all collectors but if you can get it to Brent quickly the review is not important enough to delay shipping for him. You are doing the right thing and I'm applauding you for it but your right this isn't heroic or altruistic it's just the right and fair thing to do thank you for this video you make reasoned arguments here and in most if not all your videos that show your care and loyalty to collecting and the community as a whole thanks again.
Micheal is there any way to take the Barge apart, I know some of the side panels come off, but I think some of it is held together by screws, I do not really know, if so you could then ship it in smaller boxes, in a few installments- love your videos

I think ultimately it should be yours and Brent’s decision whether you review it.
