    I would absolutely love a more in depth look at each of these Defect facets, I just keep on losing on this class.

    I think another thing with orb channeling cards is that they scale naturally, as, once you got your wheel full they start evoking orbs on top of channeling a new one. So that 6 damage 2 block, is now suddenly a 6 damage 5 block if you can evoke the frost orb. Or a 14 damage 2 block if you evoke a lightning orb with it, which is quite strong for the energy. And that without needing any other type cards than just any type of channeling orb cards.

      I just read your post, and realized something was off.
      If you end up evoking a lightning orb with it, it's actually 11 damage 2 block; since while you do get the 8 damage from the evoked lightning, and 6+8=14, you no longer get the 3 lightning damage at the end of the turn.
      Still great damage/value for just 1, just want to make sure the math is right :)

      as you said yourself 6+8=14. Simply not having an additional 3 at the end doesn't subtract from the result. It just means you get less extra than it sounds at first (since you'd get 9 damage with a channel from the orb anyway, so it's "only" +5 damage as opposed to +8)

    The problem with Claw is that it's only really good in smaller decks, especially in multiples. If you're doing that you kind of really need to go for it. I've won some runs spectacularly with Claw, but it only works if you commit (and it definitely doesn't work all the time)
    The downside there is that you have no guarantee that you'll get there. It's one of those things that isn't great if you want to win consistently but when it works it's a lot of fun.

    How do you feel about melter? I have found it to be really nice. It's pretty common for it to be dealing 20+ damage for 1 energy. dealing 70 damage to those little baseballs and catching thieves before they escape with it are really satisfying experiences heh.

    This vid is definitely going to up my strategy. Thanks!

    I honestly don't dislike blizzard and claw.
    Sometimes i happen to have a deck that goes on full turtle mode and those cards can help dealing damage.
    Of course there are many other ways to solve this problem like channeling dark or lightning but if you have a lot of cycling and don't get other good damage sources those cards may work just fine.

    Can you do these for Ironclad and Silent?
    The overexplained vids are neat, but a bit meandering to act as good guides

    I see the defect as a combo based character. Some of the dailys that give you a 50 card deck turn into card draw and search fests into aggregate, double energy and whatever X cost card I put into the deck to kill.

    Really appreciate the video, this is exactly what I needed because Defect is the only class I'm having a hard time figuring out how to evaluate and play. Although, your audio levels are all over the place in this video! It's kind of hard to listen to because it's so loud when you lean in and so quiet when you lean back.

    I always play a lot of power cards as defect! This can lead to amazing orb rotation after every turn!

    Nice vid! Agreed that claw is a very underwhelming card. Looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts on specific cards!

    I really like when guides are not expining something too much in depth, just show up a general direction. Because for me the most fun I have is when I can figure out how to get better.
    Usually when I figured out everything about a game or when I hit a roadblock too harsh to overcome I quit to another game.

    You should do a review video of twitchChat, you could go over the chat logs for a run and critique helpfulness, sarcasm, humor, copy-pasta, emotes, and bot commands.

    I really like glass cannon builds (if you get a nice start) and I usually dislike too much block at a time, so its pretty interesting to hear your thoughts on block (especially with frost orbs)

    • @cookies23z
      @cookies23z 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      to further my thoughts, power builds are really easy and nice, especailly with the relic to make stuff cost 0 when you use a power, I love stacking loads of them and just using powers as deck thinning so after a few turns you can jsut have a few nice cards and a little draw to consistently cycle them.

  • @clecanadalawexplained6330
    @clecanadalawexplained6330 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Defect Power-based builds are ridiculous once you get Creative AI. By mid-Act 2 you can just steamroll everything.

    Thanks for giving amazing instruction of the defect! I told you about translation works in Korean recently and I'm going to do this VOD as well.
    the title of this VOD, however, isn't understandable for me to get its meaning.
    For me, 'Crash-Course' sounds like 'broken' or 'need to be corrected'.
    But I'm sure those are not your intention :(
    Could you tell me exact meaning of the title? It helps me a lot to translating works.

    • @Jorbs

      "Crash course" basically means a quick lesson intended to teach all the basics.

      some of these cards like glacier got nerfed..Glacier got nerfed and its still s tier

  • @arvetis
    @arvetis 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is this still accurate? The guides on steam seem to go against a lot of the advice given here. They tend to be focused on archetype, and emphasize that you can't just throw in whatever cards are good at the moment.

    How good is Reprogram? I value this pretty highly as a 1 of.... is this as good as card draw?

  • @romlesteak658

    Do you really think you need some 'scaling' card on this character (like Creative IA or Echo Form)? Situationnally of course, but most of the time, my orb and some powers (White Noise?) are enough scaling for beat all the bosses. (even the champ if you have something like Capacitor+Barrage)

    • @Jorbs
      @Jorbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      orbs are one of the ways to scale. sometimes you don't get orb cards, in which case something like creative ai/echo form will do fine.
