this song really encapsulates the differences yet similarities between Sonic and 2017x on a whole other level the blue blur himself has his fair share of fakers (metal, shadow, scourge, etc.) but none of them actively WANTED to be LIKE HIM or BE HIM in general, this guys a whole different story. in the beginning act of this song, pre-transformation the "Sonic" here plays the part of the "Hero" of the story, one would compare his heroism to that of the blue blur, but its hard to see when he sees the villain of the story as this 6 year old rabbit.. he depicts CREAM in his vision as the "bad guy" who must be eliminated, because her vision is not warped like his, she KNOWS that is NOT sonic, and she knows that he is no hero and is the one putting her life on the line. but alas, he denies that he is the false one and continues his rush to kill cream, but he doesn't do it in a classic Sonic.EXE way. he asks Cream to fight back, attempt to show some form of bravery, its a small detail in the song but I really like it and I feel like it plays more into the trope of 2017 not wanting to be something devoid of positive emotion like 2011x, but wanting to be something more and real like Sonic himself. the transformation part fucking slaps it stays the same for the beginning part, with the broken beast form of 2017x mock-asking Cream to stay and play another game with him to her own demise, but it slowly breaks down into 2017x doubting himself and acknowledging his own flaws. "BLUE BLUR, WHOS SCORCHED TRAIL IS STAINED WITH RED AND GREY" could be a point out that his actual character design shares nothing of sonic's true colors, being a beast colored in gray with red demonic eyes, instead of the fun loving blue blur everyone loves and knows. "**I AM NOT FLAWED! I CANT BE!**" he shouts out, making a statement as if he is sure of himself, but at the same time he sounds almost.. desperate. desperate to prove himself as THE sonic the hedgehog, but would sonic be like this? him pointing out the traits of his beast form right before this line, almost as if he questions himself; would the real sonic be a monster like he is? "SOMETHINGS OFF WITH MY REFLECTION, WARPED MISGUIDED MISDIRECTION" "HERO IN BLUE, THAT SONIC IS ME, WHY CAN'T YOU JUST SEE?" he slowly regains a tad bit of confidence in his form, thinking that he himself is the perfect visage of sonic, but its OTHERS views that are flawed to see him not as the real sonic, the hero. and with another maniacal laugh, his doubts are gone, and his goal is set once more. "AND **BOOM** IT ALL CLICKS!" IS SUCH A GOOD LINE AAAAAAAAAA I WONT ANALYZE IT TOO MUCH CUZ I THINK ITS JUST 2017X REALIZING TO HIMSELF THAT CREAM IS THE ONE WITH THE FALSE VIEW, I JUST LOVE THE WAY ITS SAID SO MUCH 2017x then goes out of his way mid song to make a bunch of reference to various games in the sonic series, which I believe is a way to symbolize his delusions coming back into play, his self doubts gone from before and his mindset locked IN to thinking of being the blue blur. and then he brutally injures cream with a gmod sound effect the way hes staring the brutalized cream down with this, cocky, confident, Sonic-Esque pose with the crossed arms and turned head really sets the score for me. sonic would only be hitting one of these poses when like eggman gets defeated, he would be helping cream in this scenario, but we know this is not sonic, this is the goat 2017x who beats up kids. i like this song
