Marc Lowrance made those matches exciting. Before there was Jim Ross a man named Marc Lowrance that could put a match OVER with his announcing. Marc added a touch to every show. Thank you Marc
I remember 3pm on a weekday running home from the bus stop to make it home in time to catch Fritz's World Class on our local TV channel 49 WGCB out of Red Lion, PA with the roof mounted directional aerial antenna and the huge Zenith tube color TV.
Not to sound like a jerk but I had no idea Marc would be so damn interesting to listen to in regards to the history of everything he knows with the 🤼♂️ wrestling he was involved with. You are a really really good listen.
The legend Lowrance. Grew up watching Mark announce WCCW and we lived in Wichita Falls Texas. WCCW was HUGE. Mark was a big part of that! Good to see him! So funny how he'd be sarcastic at times.
I watched World Class every weekend here in Houston back in the day. Loved visiting my Dad in Dallas, we would go to the Sportatorium every Friday night for some Von Ericks, Freebirds, Ice man King Parsons. Chris Adams! Good times. What I would do to be that young kid to sit there with my pops watching the matches.
That sounds like a great memory. I understand, what I wouldn't give to be young too. I'm glad this video brought you back to that time. Thanks for sharing!
I was 11 years old July 4th 1985 and I saw referee David Manning got caught in the rope being choked and Mark Lowrance help get them out of there this was during the Von Erichs vs Gino Hernandez and Gentleman Chris Adams.
@@TheTonyPruittShow It's on TH-cam somewhere. Great memories. My uncle was the primary contractor for Fritz's house in Edom, Texas, the property where one of the boys died. We were invited out to meet Fritz and Doris during the construction. He was a very nice man, but I also think he cast a very big shadow.
Yeah, that old Sportatorium really was a dump, but oh the amazing talents that performed in that place. Not just wrestlers but also some great bands as well. Damn shame it's not there anymore. But still, a great historic place in our history.
Mark Lowrance is one of the voices of my childhood. Lance Russell, Dave Brown, Bill Mercer, Mark Lowrance, Tony Schiavone, Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan. But that question at 11:53? Are you serious?
Yeah, it was great to get the chance to speak with him. And I like to ask all kinds of questions. Sometimes people ask me to ask certain questions. Hey, if you don't know the answer, it's not a dumb question. Mark Lowrance is one of the voices of my childhood too. I'm glad he was able to come on for all of us to watch and listen to.
I like Mark . He is a straight shooter . He is a born again individual but not a such a goody two shoes that he cannot tell a compelling story about a dirty business .
I am not a fan of those reproduction belts . The real ones lose their mystique when every mark owns one . I get the allure but if I ran a territory I would trademark my belt .
I first became aware of wrestling in 1974 but did not start watching until 1978 . I miss the old stuff . Had I known that gimmicky schlock is what it would become I would have never gotten hooked and would have gotten involved with something else . I was totally disgusted with Wrestling by 2000 . 22 years a fan and I just walked away . My son is not a fan nor is my grandson . Wrestling lost its generational appeal .

Same here. I just remember him introducing the wrestlers before a match.

These vids are fun.Bringing back a ton of memories. Can’t wait for my favorite Cowboy,Bob Lilly.
Pretty sure Jim Cornette thinks the world of Marc. Sounds like he was terrific. Principled guy. Great to see.
When you saw a professional, clean cut, Marc Lowrance, that, added credibility to the show/WCCW.
Mark is a funny cat! He will be on The Von Erich podcast tomorrow
I don't like many people, but I sure do like Marc Lowrance.

What a legend the last one left
I love when a wrestler would get color, he would say “oh he’s bludgeoned “
Always liked Lowrance; he was entertaining without being over the top.
I agree.
I remember a couple episodes were Terry Gordy would grab you by your suit and yank you real good lol
Enjoy him on the show. World Class was not seen in my area my friend would send me a tape of the shows
Cool. I'm glad you found a way to watch it.

Hi marc! A fan of yours I was!
Fritz won the AWA Belt, so they were not gonna let him with the NWA Belt. That was hardly ever done.
He never won the AWA belt
@@raddmann336 Of course he did, Fritz was a bad ass when he was AWA World Champ
@@raddmann336 Check the title lineage. You'll find that he held the belt.
I'm glad he talked about Psycho Chris
I remember once Mark introduced the Nature Boy as "Flamboyant" Ric Flair. 🤣🤣🤣
lol That's funny!

if your religion gets in the way of telling the absolute truth, then it's not a religion worth following.
Undertaker, Austin, all of them came waaaay later toward the end, Shawn Muchaels was a jobber there when he started.

They do trademark them. Then they sell the rights to toy companies and make a fortune off of the sales.
I always laugh when people are shocked to hear the Sportatorium was a piece of Sht
ALL the legendary venues, whether music OR wrestling, were "legendary" alright... legendary DUMPS.
