Abs plastic pipe, Mylar. Position at a 45 degree angle and shoot the projector from the side. Works best if another house is not nearby. Also add some lit decorations behind the tarp and in front to give it “thin air” texture. A fog curtain would work well too (multi head water atomizer found in pond supplies. House of hydro is good)
THANK U SO MUCH! I am brand new to this hologram stuff and I Love how it looks! Starting this year and on a budget of course....so this is soooo helpful! This gramma is going to be rocking the neighborhood soon enough for all the little goblins & some fun!
The shower curtain liner was much better. Personally, I purchased chiffon fabric from Joanne's Fabrics for $15. The advantage is that it doesn't require a frame at all, you just use push pins to hold it up in windows and doorways or fishing line to hang it between two uprights. In my case the uprights are a tree, and one of the posts from my carport. This year I'm doing phantasms in a front window, a conglomeration of effects that came with an atmosfx projector that I got for $26 on Amazon, the Boo Crew on a 3d form, singing pumpkins on real pumpkins, and Bone Chillers on a 3 yd piece of chiffon fabric. I think I have maxed out what I can do without it just being "too much of a good thing. "
Hi Leo, have you compared a shower curtain to the chiffon fabric? I am about to get the frosted shower curtain, as I have just a white one. The frosted looks much better but I like the idea of the chiffon just being held up with push pins. I tried that with the shower curtain and it just started tearing it.
Wow it looks amazing with shower curtain liner. Foolish me, I ordered 20x10 ft custom bridal mesh to cover my garage right before I saw this. Oh well, will do this if that doesn’t work out!
Thanks for doing this. I have been racking my brain trying different ways to remove the very visible projector light. Its no a problem when projecting to a window that i elevated, but floor level projections is awful. Going to get a frosted shower curtain today and give it a go.
Nancy Jones any shower curtain will work, I got the least expensive one I could find in the largest size available. Get whatever suits your build just be sure it is Frosted. You can also cut the curtain to size in windows as a projection material.
Stapled to the wood frame but the clamps shown in the video work much better on the PVC frame. I ended up putting a 5’ piece of Rebar into the ground and simply sliding the PVC onto the rebar to stand it up.
About how big were ur screens? How did u zoom them in? It makes hem look SO much nicer. I’m attempting this effect for my house this year as well but I would love to make the projections bigger as u dis
oldies ty thank you for viewing and for your questions. I apologize i haven’t seen them sooner to help you with your setup. The screen measured 8’W x 6’H. You can zoom in on the video clips by running the files through any video editing software. I used a free one available online and it took some time to figure out how to use it but the end result is well worth the time invested!
The projector is a $60 atmos one I got at a large hardware retailer. After the holidays are over you can get their leftover stock on sale for $40-$50. I find no need to spend a bunch of cash on a high quality projector, with a life sized ghoul popping out in a 6x8 screen the reactions are amazing. I had people standing in the driveway for 4-5 minutes watching the full loop of clips in awe!
PVC glue is permanent so I only glued one side of each joint. I chose to glue the 90 elbows to the 2 horizontal top and bottom lengths the just pressed the verticals into the elbows with no glue. Here are the clamps to attach the curtain to the frame. No glue here they just press on and pull off. a.co/d/06Sx6tl
I want to do this with a garden arch way but its pretty close to the sidewalk wouldn't the shower curtain be to noticeable or is this better from far away, last year I did the window projections with sheer Walmart light gray curtains but not sure what to use outside. Also it's dark enough but not super dark in the area I want to use.
@@tiffanycortinas9341 that year I made a frame and we used a sheer gray curtain it was a pain to use but it worked last year I bought the fabric from atmosfearfx so much easier to work with and I didn’t have to worry about snagging it so easily
This was soo helpful. I was very close to spending a fortune on projection material. I'm now going to get myself a shower curtain! Happy days!

Thank you for the tips. I like the PVC idea with the shower curtain.
Great video, I can’t believe how great the shower curtain works and sooooo much less expensive
Did the shower curtain work from showing it behind?

Thanks, I have been struggling with the same project. These are some really nice ideas.
So very helpful, I was using fabric but needed an outdoor/weather proof solution. Thank you!
You can use a handheld steamer to get the rest of the wrinkles out of the shower curtain.
I used my sheer window curtains and it works well too!
Did your sheer curtain block the light from the rear projector?
@@duykien199789 no it shined right to the opposite side and viewers could see!
yes, we would love more education on the images and your set up from behind the curtain
Where/what shower curtain did you purchase? I am trying to replicate what you did here. Love it!! The shower curtain was perfect!!

Can anyone put a link to a frosted shower curtain liner? I can't find any I the uk.
Try B and Q. Or Amazon. I found the frosted shower curtain at both sites.

Looks great. What projector are you using? A home theater one or one of the $80-$300 kits from Atoms or another Halloween one?

Is there any trick/lifehack to hide the beamer light?
@@lars5006 you can play with the angle of deflection. Try moving it to the side left or right instead of directly straight on or up/down.

But what about any wind blowing? it could probably rip in a high wind,?
it looks way better with the shower curtain.

How did you get this to stand up in the yard?
I put it in the garage door frame, it wasn’t in the yard

Yes all of the effects are designed to be rear projection
what are the length of your PVC pipes used to create this?
Charles Guerrerro the frame is 7 x 8

Did you have your projector set up inside or outside?
The projector is set up inside the garage so the image is a rear projection
