hey so my phone's ribbon cable to the screen is broken and the screen doesn't turn on or register touch inputs. When I plug it onto my computer I can access the files and I think I have usb debugging on. How can I create an android image backup or something like that to get everything back or just access the phone through my pc screen?
If your USB debugging is on, you can use adb command in install vysor app in your phone, install it to your computer and cast your phone screen to your computer or laptop.

Thank you for making the video but sadly as of all the help videos on Google these solutions are all dependent on the broken phone already having certain apps and settings enabled so without having them already on it is useless as the screen does not work so the settings or apps cannot be added. Going round in circles because modern technology sucks. Bring back the Nokia 32/10 and snake I say.

I hope you read this. I have an android, screen still works and i can still use the double tap option to turn it on but other than that the screen doesn't react to swipes. I have tried the usb otg that you reccomend on one of your vids, but my phone's OTG option is off, Wifi is off and the usb debugging is off as well. How can i still use my phone with that?
That's a bad combination of things that are wrong. I still don't know why some Android OEMs started turning off OTG. I don't think there's other option you have than to change the touch screen pad or the screen if both touch and screen are fused together

Did you turn enable the option to always connect with this PC? That would make the device not to request for prompt each time it is connected to the system. If you did, get one of the adapters in the video description for Huawei device and you'll be good to go. Connect to any HDMI display and use the remaining USB A port to connect mouse 🖱 or keyboard or both with a splitter
Thanks for the info so far, but i might have got a challenge for you. The Screen of my Samsung A40 is completely broken. When I try to boot it up it vibrates, so it does still charge. The smartphone has been powerless in at least a year and my router and privider got switched up. Is there anyway how i can still access my broken phone?

I've had debugging on but my computer doesnt detect the phone, does that mean that the connector is broken too ? It does charge the phone though and I can still make calls through my phone using my tablet.
What's the male and model of the phone. Check the computer device manager and see if It detects anything. Also, to use USB debugging, you need to have adb and Fastboot installed in the computer
The cable probably only supports charging. So it can't transmit data.

What do I do if I have level 3, it’s a nexus. When I press the on button or plug it to charge, it vibrates so the phone is working but no lights at all from the screen. When I connect it to my monitor the monitor goes from “no cable connected “ to just plain black after I connect it. What can I do?
Nexus will require a screen replacement. But the bigger problem will be finding a Nexus screen
Hello @SmartDepot. I have an Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 4.5 inch screen smartphone running Android 4.4.2 with level 2 screen damage from water exposure. The charging port is USB-C. The screen is totally blank, but the charging indicator light comes on when I plug the charger into a power outlet, it makes a "turning on" noise when I turn it on, and the charge light flashes when it is on (indicates that there are unseen texts and/or phone calls). I don't know if the screen touch function is working.
USB debugging isn't enabled. None of the data is stored in the cloud, by my phone network provider or on an SD card, and the phone isn't synched to any devices. All my data is stored directly in the phone and phone contact list on the sim card in the phone. Is there any way I can connect my phone to a Windows 10 laptop to view and transfer data, texts, phone call log and phone contact list? Thank you.

I am not sure iPhone 5s has the lightening port display output option. Apple, to the best of my knowledge, started that feature from iPhone 6 series. But if you have any of the adapter in the video description, you can try if it works

If you saved your contacts to your Google account, then go to contacts.google.com and sign in to view all contacts saved to the phone. That's the easiest way

It depends on the device. Most Flagship Android phones have USB-C display port output but if your device doesn't have such feature, it will impossible to give debugging permission
Hi My Oneplus 6 fell my pocket onto the highway while travelling on my bike and unfortunately I wasn’t aware of it. There was also slightly raining during that time. ‘Luckily’ I got my handset back after a few hours in a very bad condition (smashed by vehicles on the highway). It was completely dead, no response at all. With a very minimal hope I tried to recover data using data recovering applications. The attempt failed as the computer doesn’t show the connected device. Is there any other way to recover the data? Is it possible to get such damaged smartphone back to life?
You'll need to remove the storage from that phone and put it into another one. Or use a chipset device that can do this same function.

A30 does not have USB-C display port output function and without USB debugging turned on, your best option is to get another screen

Broken Screen issues have levels, if you can't see anything, your chances are very slim. If you are using a Flagship Android with USB-C V3.0 and above there may be hope for you via USB-C display port output

Have a OnePlus 3 with a black screen and the touch isn't working after a fall however it turns on. Was on untill a phone technician turned it off but it has a pattern password.
That's a tricky one. Do you have a backup password for the pattern? With an otg adapter you can try to use mouse 🖱 to draw the pattern or use a USB keyboard to attempt to input the password.

So my Samsung A3 16 is not touching at the bottom of the screen and I could not press the "ok" key after I put a password. I ended up erasing all data using ''find my device'' just to get rid of the passwords. Apple had blocked access to 3rd party adapter access to keyboard by default from iOS 12 so, if your dad turn it on, which I highly don't think he would, you can use the adapter in the video description for iPhone to get access to see the screen and input the PIN. However, iPhone 13 is worth changing the screen and using. Still a great phone

From iOS 11 Apple decided to lock access to accessories after one hour of the screen going off (or screen lock) as a default setting on iOS. You can turn it off but not many people know where the setting is

my issue is that my LG mobile screen is black. I'd like to bypass the mobile screen and use the PC screen, mouse and keyboard to access the phone remotely. I looked at things like airdroid but they say I need to also install airdroid on my phone, which is impossible because I've no way of knowing what I'm pressing on the screen if it's black. I need to access an app that is tied uniquely to this phone. If I could just view the phone on my pc, and type on it the way I'd normally type into my phone, then I could access the app. I need some kind of remote solution but any I've seen requires me to have the app installed on both the PC AND the mobile, but I can only install it on my PC. Any ideas ?

The big problem is that you probably won't see a replacement screen. There's no such option to access broken screen on blackberry. I think you can copy the files stored in it when connected to a computer

Unfortunately, A70 does not have USB-C display port output function which is a shame. If you didn't turn on USB debugging before the screen died, you only option is to replace the screen

Any App will require USB debugging to be set on laptop or PC with always allow this PC option turned on before hand.
The best application for me is Scrcpy (Screen Copy) it's also open source

USB-C display port output function is not available for OG Pixel XL. You have to get a knockoff screen if all you want is the files inside the phone
@@SmartDepot The problem is I have damaged the fpc connector of the phone and the new screen won't work. Is there a way someone can repair that or replace that(FPC connector). The screen is fine but it's the connector on the motherboard which is broken so the screen won't work. Is there any other way, I can access the phone?

My A70 is all pixles and I can hear it turn on and my alarms go off during the day but the screen won't unlock due to a pixalated screen. Just all dots. 🙁

It is not and A70 doesn't support USB-C display port output unfortunately. But A70 is still a great phone

USB-C display port output won't work with Oneplus 5 unfortunately as it has USB-C v2.0

In your case, the feasible option is to replace the screen.
My Samsung Galaxy A12 got run over yesterday I can still access files using my laptop, but I cannot use the screen at all and cannot input debugging please help
You are lucky to still have access to files. Unfortunately, there's no other option to turn on USB debugging for A12 as it doesn't support USB-C display port output

You can connect external USB keyboard with OTG adapter, press the esc button and type in your password. But then if your default USB Configuration is set to file transfer you can connect it to computer to copy files. If not, you'll need to try another method

The only thing that can save the situation is if you had turned on USB debugging before the screen died. A50 doesn't have Display port output function and you phone default USB Configuration is probably set to charge only. Could be very hard

What's your device model and OS version? It is unfortunate that some Android OEMs now turn off USB port plug and play. It is still default in Stock Android though

i have the latest or recent updates on the phone but not sure exact system sorry
i just ordered an OTG adapter on amazon to see if that can connect the mouse or keyboard as my current adapters are just normal usbc to usb
if i can swipe unlock the phone i think then i can connect dex or sidesync or some other app to get more control of my phone and move to a new one
If you get the adapter that works, esc button on the keyboard gives you the option to enter Lockscreen password, pin or pattern. It you used pattern then use a mouse 🖱 and drag along your pattern
@@SmartDepot ty man, the OTG adapter didnt work at all so i tried cleaning the usb charger port with toothbrush as i noticed some discoloration in there maybe dust or corrosion, and i have seen on occasion a charger port warning that its wet or damaged. then i plugged in my original usbc-usb adapter and i saw the mouse cursor for 1 second. then it disappeared before i could unlock the phone. so i think i have 2 issues the lcd touch not working but also an issue with the charger port so the mouse not working. i tried wiggle the adapter and i saw mouse again very briefly. so i will try clean this port better and hopefully can get the mouse to work so i can turn off the swipe lock and touchscreen sensitivity settings and permit windows apps like kies or switch to backup my phone as the lockscreen is blocking me from this atm :/
i got it working man! once i cleaned the charging port the mouse started working with OTG and normal usbc-usb adapters so i am able to control the phone again. i connected samsung flow smart view on pc so i can use the mouse on my computer to control it also. after i backup the phone i might try replace the touchscreen.
i had everything setup up for this scenario. but have to always have to enable debugging has screwed me over. used the app vysor . CANNT GET ACCESS. ABSOLUTE DISASTER

There's nothing much I or You can do about that. It's security protocol. If you had given it access before now, then you could use it. The option left for you is to replace the screen if your device doesn't support USB-C display port output function

If your phone has USB-C display port output then you can connect it to an external display and turn it on

Pattern is a poor way to lock a phone not just for security reasons but because of situations like this. You can use OTG adapter to connect a mouse 🖱 to the phone and start guessing where the pattern starting point is. If you guess it right, then you start dragging alongside the pattern to unlock it. This is very difficult to achieve without seeing what you are doing

What if the setting was last set to charge only and now you cant use the screen, but need to get all of the data off??
If usb debugging was turned on with charge only, USB debugging can be used to pull files from the phone

I plug my phone that is powered on (but the screen touch sensor and rear fingerprint scanner are broken or just not working all of a sudden) into my pc and I can see that it is connected to my PC, but I cannot view the files or any data from the phone. It was set to charge only when i was still able to use the touch, which is why it wont let me see any files when using usb. Is there a way to change it back to file transfer instead of charge only? I dont have an adapter for mouse and keyboard yet, but I have seen your other video about using those.

@@steve5654 no, it never worked. Never got the adapter, I just threw it out and got a new one. Metro was able to save all my data and I just used the SD card.
