i'm pretty sure they have teams ready to go for most maintenance issues, and dedicated slots for heavier maintenance schedules, its not like this is a new system, been refined for decades
Females actually have better hand-eye coordination. Once trained they can surpass males. Sorry guys! I worked with many female heavy equipment operators and loved their job.
True. I've worked with thousands in my military service... Most have manufacturer markings that indicate max container load of 80k pounds for a 40 foot container.
Max gross payload for a 40ft is about 30mt but it depends on whether it’s steel or aluminum. It’s unusual in most trades to see containers this heavy because of weight limits beyond the port. A container weighing so much would ordinarily be required to be loaded/unloaded at or very near the pier.
no comments on the handling of empty contener, I guess wat will happen if only full container are carried, and a separate container ship is used for only empty ones but power by green energy ,solar or wind because time for empty container isn't critical.
First off, automation can be 1/2 as fast as humans and still get 3x more work done. Secondly, she is a union worker and nobody is asking her to be more efficient or faster.
Would a bridge/causeway between North America and either UK or Spain to carry containers on electrified train cars at 35mph firectly from shipper to receiver without any seaports be a project that can get beyond close minded bosses?
I'm not even the first to get a chuckle out of kway-side.
Interesting, good video. The piece of dock meant as a connection to a ship is spelled Quay and pronounced KEY not QWEY.
Finally, a job where playing video games all day growing up pays off. Terrific video.
Shipping industry has come a long way.
Amazing video 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Eu adoro o inglês da narradora, acho lindo. ES, Brazil.
wonderful heavy large capacity cargo ships & tankers & good port operations # 👍👍 🇵🇰
The faster you move the ships in and out means less time for maintenance which will catch up to you sooner or later.

I am suggesting replacement ships with railways crossing oceans around the world. No oil is used. Power comes from wind generated electricity.
@@louisdifrancesco1474 Use magic. It is faster and cheaper.
This is an awesome video. Thanks 👍 for the insight. 😊😊
Amazing ❤
Thanks for the video
Many jobs were lost at Melbourne docks due to so called automation !
Good. And horses were replaced by cars. The more automation the better.
OMG..... so many factual errors.... sounded like a sales video some commercial dept put together.
Cool video - nicely done
Soon the entire operation, including the ships, will be autonomous.
Im amazed to a female crane operator😊

Great vid and amazing use of tech. Guess lot of people lose their jobs with automation. The USA must be way behind in port management. Like always.
The Unions do not like automation. Cuts into their profits.
Quay is pronounced key.
You get it wrong all the time!
Comes from French "quai" (dock). Should really be pronounced like the letter "K".
calm down marky.
i don't think containers can weigh 60 tons. maybe 60,000 lbs.

Singapore 🇸🇬 is building the World 🌎 largest Automation Transhipment hu.b at Tuas Megaport and will schedule to be Fully Operations by 2047.

5:20 they do not use sophisticated technology. They use cameras and grid gps. That is far less tech than my $40k car.
Eu tenho uma bronca de qnd o titulo eh em portugues e o audio eh em ingles pqp

BrisBANE...
This is poorly researched and presented. It’s Quayside NOT kwayside.
Not export pregnant medicine with children
Pretty infantile commentary. Can’t pronounce “quay” properly.
