    Been on the F900 for over two years now.
    It's never going tot win the spec sheet top trumps, but it's honestly been the best bike ever ever owned.
    Easy to do all day rides, but still the perfect amount of playfulness.
    If you're a taller person like me, it's by far and away the most comfortable bike in its class too.

    It looks ace, a huge step up from the old F800R Chris Pfeiffer edition. I'd love to see a road legal styling option that looks like this.

    Haven’t taken much notice of that bike before. That said I have a new found appreciation for its performance and looks. And sound! Although I must say hearing Chris saying “it’s a nice little bike” is 900cc 105hp considered “little” bikes? I’m sure they are for someone of his abilities. Who would want to see him in that race series? I definitely would👌

    I'm old enough to remember the 350LC race series from back in the day. Headbangers on identical machines with minimal tuning, man that was a scream to watch. If this gets anywhere close we are in for a fun watch. I would also nominate Chris for a seat in the 900R cup but if it would mean less videos of drag racing/bike tests/rebuilds etc then happy to see him sit it out.

    I've got the road version, had it new since March and already done 2k miles. It's a brilliant thing, nimble, comfortable, forgiving. Plenty of tech and enough power to make it feel fast across tight and twisty British A roads but long enough gearing that it's still comfortable on the motorway. Great all rounder. Good to see that it makes a decent track bike with a few simple modifications.

    Racing at sane speeds on a bike is more satisfying than riding high powered SS's and being terrified on the track half the time. When I was younger and not fat even my old 2001 R6 gave me some "moments". The most terrifying part for me was hitting my braking markers properly from high speeds which was key to good lap times. This bike looks like it hits the sweet spot in terms of fun and excitement. A "formula" or "spec" class is always fun because it's both affordable and competitive.

  • @TrashedRedPanda

    It would be a good intermediate sport bike with fairings as well. Hopefully they make a fully faired version.

There is always the Akrapovic and others for road use, but all seem a bit quiet. can someone send me info on the exhaust used for the cup racing?

      I've had my F900r for just over two years now.
      The SC Project exhaust really brings it to life and it's just a hell of a lot nicer as an all around bike than the KTM.
      Granted I'm quite tall, and that's one of the main reasons I ended up on the beemer. It's just extremely easy to live with and do massive miles on.

    • @chrisnorthover7582
      @chrisnorthover7582 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly what these guys said - F900R doesn't have that same edgy, crazy feel of the KTM so on Sunday afternoon on a sunny mountain road the 890 is my favourite. But in the cold light of Monday morning the BMW has a bit more of a practical feel to it, easier to ride at 70% and doesn't constantly goad you in to doing silly things. The mods they've made to the race bike have really woken the F900R up and moved it closer to the 890 for sure though but in a head to head race I'd still have money on the stock 890R.

    When does the race series start? I would be interested to ride one (retail version), few concerns about the parallel twin, is it a Rotax job, what's it like preferably from an average Joe who owns and rides one like the rest of us mortals on the road. It does look like a good way to get into the BM world, build quality, design, etc is v good, never owned a BM however have ridden, test rides, shorts hires etc, S1000RR, love the cruise control and it’s so easy to ride, K1200 from Melbourne to Phillip Island for the Superbikes, and GS1200 south island of NZ, with panniers, 2 garbage bags, one for my laptop, the other a few clothes, 1 garbage bag per pannier, i was a happy lad, bit more fairing protection would have been nice, but not as much as the K12, maybe a single R or Tuono for me, maybe a f900 with mid-size fairing, I’m a litre sports die-hard kind of ...
