They are. Which is why Yonatan Donner *_and only Yonatan Donner_* thought super shotgunning them was anything but a long chore. I'd much rather punch a Baron than SSG it.
another big factor is that barons have pretty much 100% accuracy (not counting overkill) while mancubi miss a ton of their shots, and it gets worse when the barons spread and end up causing friendly fire from mancubi
Don't projectiles check to see if they're hitting the same enemy type as who cast it and not deal damage if so? I thought only hitscan could cause two of the same enemy to infight unless they make a barrel explode
@@DinnerForkTongueTrue, and the other four shots have chances to hit other barons as well. One more huge factor is the melee attack rate for the baron, though, and the massive damage that deals, and if the baron whiffs the melee it automatically shoots a ranged attack. The melee does like twice the damage of a ranged hit iirc.
@@ji604 yeah mancubi don't hurt each other, but they do completely absorb the shot meaning it can't hit a baron. And that booty absorbs a LOT of shots.
The one I have requested a few times on other videos! Thanks! :D These two monsters are evenly matched. It's so satisfying to watch a Baron fight something of it's own size and get it's ass whooped!
If numbers are even and Barons are far enough away, Barons get too tanky for Mancubi to reasonably handle. But becomes another matter up close or with greater numbers with the greater damage output possible with Mancubi.
At very close ranges too, the Baron wins due to having a melee attack. The Mancubus would land more but also get stunned more often by the Baron's relentless melee attacks.
Pretty much evenly matched. Baron has high health, and hits precisely. Mancubui is bulky, has high offensive power, but inaccurate. When facing Barons as doomguy, you sometimes struggle against Baron due to his 1000 HP and tanking all your shots. Against Mancubus/Mancubi, taking them on from distance is pretty dangerous too. 10 vs 12, 5 vs 6 and 1vs1 parts showed me so much about them.
Hmmm. At least for Ultra Violence difficulty (have yet to dip my toes into Nightmare), I'd say Barons are easier to deal with due to how straightforward they are with their attacking, even if they take a fair bit of ammo to take out. Mancubi are a bit more dangerous due to how erratic their fireball pattern is, and gets especially chaotic when dealing with them in groups.
@@ggn3In groups, agreed, but against a single mancubus, a little practice can make dodging easy. All I have to say to the Baron of Hells at 8:40 is fools they all went for 1Mancubus and the Mancubus didn’t which did damage to all the Baron of Hells and gave them time to kill most of them and beat them, had the Barons not done that I think they could have won on Ultra Violence
I hate that Mancubi keep obstructing each other. I thought the potential of them damaging more than one enemy at once was gonna be of use to them, but nah, they keep getting in the way of their teammates' projectiles...

The mancubi death animation and sound is really amazing
One of the matches I've genuinely been waiting for.
Ohhhh that one last baron standing was absolutely on the verge of death
Damn, barons are freaking units

Barons hit so freaking hard.
have better accuracy and more hp that's why win
Well they were bosses in Episode 1
nope, each of the mancubus's fireballs hit as hard as a baron's. And a mancubus fires 6 per volley. It's just that the barons have more hp.
Mancubi hit harder.
The Mancubi have a much higher dps than Barons. The matches were the big Red's win, is decided purely by their hp and pain chance.
Interesting battle. I think the baron suffering less from pain flinch than mancubus was a big factor

Mancubi always shoot two shots with total accuracy, though. And their flames hit just as hard as Barons'.

The only non-boss monster that can handle Barons at a distance, in my experience, are Arachnotrons.
The Baron is simply too powerful. No one goes up against him and survives. NO ONE.

The 20v20 nightmare stats was a proper spectacle😮
There’s a very interesting phenomenon where ranged always attack the same target at the beginning. Why is that?
Since they have no preference as AI, they attack the enemy number 1 of a type. Until they are hit, and then they have a preferred target to retaliate against
Barons throw Milkshake protein & Mancubi throw pie 😂
If only there was a way they all wouldn’t immediately target like the center one first
Much like Spider Mastermind vs Cyberdemon, Mancubus vs Baron battles are determined by how close they are to each other and this video proves it.
This one was freakin' intense!

2:27 on the right Baron and Mancubus killed each other at the same time
2:56 for some reason all Barons focused on one Mancubus
Man....those beastly Barons are ruthless bullies

looks like the Hell Knight called in big brother Baron to get revenge xD
Strong fat vs Jacked Muscle
What happened right before 1:20 to make that Baron so mad at another baron? Whatever he did, he took it personally.
