  • A Class 156 in East Midlands Trains livery heads toward Rauceby or Ruskington before another identical Class 156 heads into the station at Sleaford. Then, A Class 56 in Colas Rail livery with some steel wagons heads into Sleaford station, destined for Boston Docks. This was the same loco seen at Sudbrook the previous day and a few minutes after this video at Sleaford LC. This crossing is still gated and is wheel operated. According to Joe Thorpe, it is due for an upgrade in about 2-3 years. It seems as though it hasn't been upgraded because of the width of the road, the new houses built by the crossing, the signalbox still in operation and the subway under the tracks by the crossing. Should be an MCB-OD in 2018 at least. There are three tracks here, although one track has had no trains for at least a couple of decades as it is a siding, the tracks on the crossing now filled with mud. The other two tracks diverge into a line to Rauceby and a line to Ruskington. The gates are extremely old and cover the width of the three tracks, thus they are too wide for the road. They are wheel operated by the signalman, who has to strain to open and close them. Nice muscles.
N.B. The video quality in the first clip in unsatisfactory, it is nothing to do with your computer. What am I saying, nobody reads the descriptions. You're an idiot if you are reading this.
    N.B.N.B. Nah, we're cool
