That's the exact list I'd recommend, although maybe not in that order. My Heart Will Go On is the big big one. Huge song, HUGE epic performance. Then Purple Rain. Then Reflection, where Jessie proves she has the best bottom end of anyone currently singing, THEN Killing Me Softly, which is performed fantastically, but is a slightly less amazing song overall, so there are limits to what Jessie can do to it (she maxes out what's possible). Maybe after ALL of those, her medley of Flashlight and Earth Song.
It's a performance that manages to be elegant, tasteful and thrilling all at once. Your intuitions about her theatre background were spot on, as were your insights about her restrained riffing, and her audience interaction.
Her training was in musical theatre. At the same school in London that Adele, Amy Winehouse and others went. I believe everyone has there time as long as you work hard and have integrity. She has all in abundance. So I believe last year and these years to follow is her turn and time to be recognised the whole world round. I’m a heartbeat because she gives me strength at times. Being born with a genetic heart disease or a genetic blood disorder is horrific. However most of us just get on with it. I’m laid low right now. Fighting for my life really. Because I just got on with it I was told that that mindset had become detrimental. However if I beat this I will find the balance of living life, work and party whilst having transfusions every other week. So glad you immediately noticed that she has a theatrical background. So what it she gesticulates a bit, what is coming out of her mouth right now; no other person can match.
Wow. As a fellow heartbeat, I'd like to say, thank you for sharing your thoughts and more about jessie's background. I hope life never drags you down and that you always find a way to get up when you do. You are incredibly strong for going through what you had, being born with something that would terrify most people. Sending much love to you. Keep going!
Thank you for the encouragement. Being a Brit I don’t have to worry about choosing between my health and anything else but having no family things get hard especially this time of the year. Please react to her sing my heart will go on. She had to fly back here for treatment as she was fainting and in a lot of pain after the show the week before. So the lyrics became a different meaning to her as she just arrived after final rehearsals and sang the song blind. I’ve always attributed a song to the people that mean the world to me. Tears in heaven is for by twin that didn’t survive, your my best friend to my best friend etc. I look forward to watching more reactions from you. Hope you have an amazing 2020.
@@thepriceofsalt9003 Thanks so much for your kind words. Really appreciated and uplifting. May you and yours be blessed always. Please stay safe and healthy.
I guess she is better known in Europe than in the US. One of the very few "normal" pop singers I am exited to listen to. If you want to see more of her I would suggest her rendition of purple rain or pretty much any of her performances on this same show "Singer".
She is a UK Pop Idol and was a vocal coach for the Voice UK. She has been in the industry for over a decade and is huge in Europe and now in the Far East
Absolutely mad vocalist, check out either "my heart will go on - th-cam.com/video/l7vUNo-GjOk/w-d-xo.html " or "i will always love you - th-cam.com/video/xjq9o2DAMkI/w-d-xo.html " - both of them absolutely amazing
Jessie is very underrated...you should try some of her other performances from this show,Purple Rain,My Heart Will Go On,Killing Me Softly are very good.
Thank you for your beautiful reaction 💛 Could you please react to her "My heart will go on", "I Will Always Love You" and "Domino" songs from the same competition (Singer 2018)? Thank you 💛💛💛
This was my introduction to Jessie J back in 2010. Doing Price Tag on Later with Jools Holland. th-cam.com/video/tnw0mn_eYLM/w-d-xo.html (it's from the BBC, so I don't know if it's available in the US. Apologies if it isn't, but this is a great performance.)
Vocal Splendor Studios Oh, good. This was the song that brought her into the public eye here in the UK. “Later” is a live music show in which Jools Holland gets an eclectic mix of five or six acts in a studio, who then perform a song each. This is a stripped-back version of “Price Tag”, with just an acoustic guitar as accompaniment. I prefer it to the full-band single version - it puts more emphasis on her voice and performance.
I love so much your reaction 😭 Can you please react to Luis Miguel? He is considered the Best male singer in latino américa. I recomended: Tengo todo excepto a ti - Acapulco 1993 La Incondicional - El Concierto Culpable o No - Viña del Mar 1990
If you like this, please listen to this th-cam.com/video/16lHxtUm__c/w-d-xo.html. Maybe you hear from her, I think so, Nadine that case you can spend a month or more on her to do reaction vid’s, because of her versatility. She is like Floor.
Her version of "My heart will go on" is mindblowing
Juliana Chorén absolutely
Purple Rain, Killing Me Softly, My Heart Will Go On and Reflection from this same show singer! Stellar performances!!

Jessie J is a definition of Perfection ! 💜
I would say she is the most versatile pop singer (female)
What do you think of Lea Songa? (likely I spelt wrongly)
Look at her purple rain and flashlight/earth song
Up
She is so authentic!
Amazing stage presence and she sings straight to your heart...
So strong as a live performer!
I'm so glad you did Jessie J Valerie, she won that show , great reaction, big hugs...
It's a performance that manages to be elegant, tasteful and thrilling all at once.
Your intuitions about her theatre background were spot on, as were your insights about her restrained riffing, and her audience interaction.

She is quite well known in the US. Though she's not the superstar that she probably should be, she's had some pretty big hits in the US.
