The story behind this performance gets me right in the feelings. The fact that she was absent the week before and defied her doctor's orders and flew back to China to perform this really goes to show her passion and her devotion. She said afterwards that she thought she was going to pass out several times during this performance. She actually had a little deal set up with the conductor of the band. You can see right before the climax that she gives a little signal to show that she is actually going through with the big chorus at the end. She was honestly not sure if she was going to be able to finish, but she came through and delivered spectacularly. I have no words to describe my admiration for her in this moment...
KZ is actually a big fan of Jessie J lol, she almost gave up singing when she was in high school because of vocal cord tumors, but she realized she didn't have to sing high notes to make herself different from other singers after hearing Jessie J. KZ also said she became an artist mostly because of Jessie loll!! And thanks for reaction!!

This is perfect. I have recovered from open heart surgery as well as breast cancer, feeling as if I was truly going to die from the pain of both. I made it, and I go on and on. I prayed for death, but I have something else I need to do. I'm so glad I am still here, I'd have missed so much.

Something that actually makes it more special is, as you mentioned, Jessie J was having some issues on her heart, she went back to the UK and was told by a doctor to stay at home, but she was super committed to this competition she did go to China and make this beautiful performance, so she's literally singing about her heart still going on and I think that's beautiful

As many times as I have watched this performance, it never connected with me until this view that this was right after having medical treatment for her heart. Gives much more depth to her performance.
With that chorus she decided that if she had a cardiac arrest right there it was fine. No better way to leave this planet than to be taken straight up to heaven.
