Thanks, Tim! I agree, we do not work for Rockwell although we sure do a great job at a TH-cam version of knowledgebase. I know we both teach differently, but I do enjoy your approach to automation and controls.
I’m a big fan of Logix, but sometimes it feels like AB are just trying to piss off their customers at the moment - series B panelview plus 7 seems to be their current attempt to infuriate me!
Yes, I saw that but didn't have time to play with it before the live stream. Hopefully I'll have some down time at the beginning of the year and can play with it.
It doesn't change anything in terms of IEC 61131-3, I can't think of an easier conversion than changing the mnemonic to be compatible with the norm. If Rockwell wants to be compatible with IEC 61131-3, it should redesign the project structure and instructions implementations like TIMER or COUNTER.
Wow, great video! And I like the 61131-3 naming as it make a lot more user readable to me, ie ATN renamed to ATAN is far better to me. Also, did they also bring the highlight the contact and tap the space bar to change from XIO to XIC?? Again great video!!!
I didn't notice a difference in the XIO and XIC. Those are the only two terms I dislike about 61131-3. Normally open and normally closed are electrical terms.
Thanks, Tim!

Same with you!

V36 is also introducing OPC UA

Wow, Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome
These changes to the abbreviations don't make sense to me. Some are shorter while others are longer? why?
It is the IEC 61131-3 standard
Quick key configuration will need to be modified if you use that function.

They are making steps in the right direction. Some users are very upset about the changes, others welcome them.
NE.....Nebraska lol. Thanks Tim, now that's how I will always read it.
It will take some getting used to😁
TOD used to mean To Decimal and FRD used to mean From Decimal.
I think the best feature of V36 is the OPC UA access from the controller
Oh I didn't realize that, I need to check that out

In the old Emerson Isagraph now known as CCW you can highlight the contact itself and hit the spacebar to change states.
Going to try it in CCW now.
Hey you did a video on V36!!
Even mentioned you 😁

This will be a good one to replay later also. That Notepad++ trick was cool.
@@TimWilborne you're right that is a pretty good way to do it .. glad you do these as I work and train with 1400,800, and some 5000
I'm glad it helped.
