    Thanks for this! I’ve been looking for a first road bike and this makes me feel more confident in this bike and approximate age. Really didn’t want anything newer/pricier or disc brakes or proprietary components to start.

    2010s era bikes were gladiators designed around athletes, great bikes still

    I'm from the UK, bought a TI Sap Cycles Elan (small Yorkshire firm from Harrogate), last year. Custom hand built wheels included, hand built to my spec by Bobby Stephens, who's label is on the rims. It was worth bypassing the factory wheels they are something else a good set of hand built wheels.

    So don’t sell my 2011 trek madone. I better take it of Craig’s. Great video.

    I’ve got a 2013 4.5 and love it. I’d never sell it for anything.

    I have been binge watching your videos as I recently just found you. With that said, have you ever worked on a Colnago C40? If so, any experience?
    If not, you should try getting one as they hold their value extremely well.

      I have not, but it is all dependent on what becomes available and the price in my market. But I'll keep my eye out.

    Good info about carbon

    I just bought a 2011 5.2 that says “Trek Carbon Technology” instead of “OCLV Carbon” on the frame. Is there an appreciable difference between the two carbon brandings? The information I’ve come across so far is confusing.

      It's a broad term used by Trek to describe their various carbon fiber frame construction methods and innovations. These methods vary across their bike models and ranges. TCT was used when they moved production to overseas. 2007-08

    Is 550 USD a fair price for a used 2010 Trek madone 4.5? I can also choose a Scott CR1 Elite with SRAM Rival from 2011 with carbon aero wheels for 800 USD.

    4.5 is better than 6.9?

    • @IKnowAGuyBicycles
      @IKnowAGuyBicycles  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The higher the number, the better the group set is in most cases. Sometimes, the frame is elevated.
