Despite their size, Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden have a chance to avoid conquest through clever diplomacy or fierce resistance. Write a new history of the Nordic countries in Arms Against Tyranny, a new expansion for Hearts of Iron IV.

I admire the Finnish spirit, but I'm baffled that the Finnish leadership didn't know how to rush a netherlands invasion to unlock Finnish East Indies manpower.
Seems like a lot of needless worry over a fixable problem!
True. Also I'm surprised that they didn't realize to flip fascist for more manpower. Easy start would have been to delete their divisions and train cavalry when the civil war starts. They certainkly didnt know the meta.
The Finns should have turned communist (I'm going to hell for saying that), gotten military access from the soviets, spammed hundreds of divisions of a dozen guys each, then just send them to each soviet city and declare war on Tannu what.

Easily one of the most awesome dlc trailers so far.
Really wish Paradox would go back and update the earlier dlcs. The dlc focus trees for british colonies are extremely lacking (except for the Canadians) compared to newer dlcs.

The German focus tree is fine, its very good although short. And no shit, I DID WANT A NORDIC FOCUS TREE! Cuz Finland really needed one, and not everyone wants to fucking play Germany every game.

I love Hearts of Iron, I really do. Sunk about 2,500 hours into it, playing and modding the game for hours on end. But I won't make the mistake of pre-ordering a Paradox DLC ever again.

@insertsomethingfuni2617 as the guy above me already said, the new content is always super bugged when it comes out. Paradox apparently doesn't test their own DLC before they release them. Also, I get that they need to put a price tag on new content, which I am absolutely fine with - the game has been out for years and you can't expect them to put out free DLC while actively having to maintain it. BUT, 20€ is a pretty big amount of money for 3 minor focus trees and a niche new mechanic (i.e. the international arms market).
I have been waiting for this dlc for YEARS! I am a Norwegian moved to the US Myself and i have been wishing paradox would make this for years, so this is a dream come true

@@NokotanFanCentralThe Anschluss of Austria was a major factor in the lead-up to war, while Siam was rather notable for its status as a neutral nation until the Japanese invaded and forced them into an alliance. Having content for either would be pretty rad.

The Germans have a very good focus tree even to this day, they don't need it. The commonwealth nations do, look at fucking south Africa. Utterly terrible tree. The same for the Hungarians, Romanians, Czechoslovaks, and Yugoslavia.

They have to buff Soviet Union because they will have new enemy with pretty large front (Finland). Please nerf CAS and fighters too, they are devastating to land units, tanks are useless nowadays.

Great. I have a good feeling about this DLC.
However, here's a little list of things that are still needed:
- Equipment designer
- Motorized/mechanized designer
- Austria, Slovakia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Croatia and Albania focus tree
- Czechoslovakia rework
- Chinese warlords rework
- Nuclear weapons rework (!!!)
- Intelligence agency rework
- Ability to lock the manual war justification until a certain date
- Event that mentions my dog. He's a good boy.
Austria dies most of the time tho , Slovakia and the others make sense .

So they called their DLC "Arms against tyranny" about countries that either were conquered within days by Nazi Germany (tyranny) and didn't even been able to rise their "arms" and about countries that were direct allies (Sweden and Finland) of Germany.

Maybe next they could do South America? They’ve barely touched it after all.
I am interested in land doctrine changes, mainly for superior firepower which now gives buff to anti-air. Air superiority defense reduction is MASSIVE for land units, there is no reason to build anything else than fighters with CAS.
The unwavering bravery and determination of the Finnish to die free rather than live as slaves is truly something to marvel at, even if they lost the war.

The Finns weren't in the Axis. The allies would've sent aid to them, but Norway refused to allow their armies in to aid them.

🇫🇮 Fun Fact: Finland officially allied with Germany in WWII but managed to preserve its independence and avoid direct involvement in the war. This unique position led to favorable peace terms with the Soviet Union.
Fun Fact: They were directly involved in the war.
They were directly involved in the terrible Siege of Leningrad. They directly led the occupation of territories, concentration camps and ethnic cleansing.
Finland received relatively favourable terms because her betrayal of Germany and her defection to the victors' side greatly reduced the width of the front for the USSR and also allowed the Baltic Fleet to operate freely.
