Honest question about the repro cap and ball revolvers. Does anyone make HEAVIER spring kits for these revolvers. With just about everyone trying to lighten up these things I would like to find someone that makes a spring heavy enough that when it sets a cap off it’s not going to blow the cap back into the action.
@@Ben_not_10 I don't think there is unfortunately. I think there are only a few options. Put 2 springs together. You could also make a spring. It's really not difficult if you have the tools. You could also try modify colt replacement springs for originals. Not sure it would work though. If I remember right original length springs are a little shorter.
I used an extra spring just shy of half the length of the primary spring. Basically a “helper” spring like on a leaf pack on a pickup’s suspension. Helped a lot. Another huge difference that I made was switching from RWS to Remington 10’s. This is with slixshot nipples on a Uberti 1860.
