Hello from Kyiv Ukraine. I am a semi pro photographer. I do a lot of photo shoots for models on location. The reason I am not a pro is because I already have an established business. I own the Sony A9, A7 III and 7 e mount lenses and also the RX10 MK4. I first saw this when the MK 3 was released and thought it was interesting. When the MK4 was released I was very interested so I bought one. I wanted something I could pick up and go without taking all my gear with me. To date I have used this on photo shoots as an experiment with surprisingly excellent results. It is a run and gun camera and great for travel. I never leave home without it now. The form factor is actually not that big when you compare the A9 or A7 III with a 70 to 200 lens attached. This camera is great for street photography as you are less conspicuous and have the reach when you need it. As for cost I do not think it is very expensive if you compare a body plus a comparable lens. It is actually a fraction of the price plus all the added features this camera has. Image quality is very good right across the range but you would expect this from a Zeiss lens. The only thing that I do not like is how the aperture quickly changes from F2.4 to F4. It would have been better to have more control on the aperture but Sony has done well to make such a camera. Low light is not great but you can achieve good usable shots with OCF and soft boxes so it is a good camera for the hobbyist and even the beginner. Who is this camera for? In my opinion it is for everyone. Beginner to pro. For a beginner it will up their game If you are a pro it is a great camera to take everywhere with you and with knowledge in photography you can push this camera to perform well. It is what it is, an all rounder. Not perfect but very very good and the best on the market right now. It also has Eye AF taken from the Sony pro level cameras. Tracking is excellent on moving subjects. For street photography all you need is the camera and a spare battery. No backpack full of lenses and so on. If someone wanted one camera that could do almost everything well. this would be the camera I would recommend and I can say this from real life experience. I have noticed some pros giving out bad comments in the comment section on some of the reviews and I do not believe for one minute that they have even held the camera let alone used it. I look at the 3 cameras I have from Sony as tools in the same way as a tradesman does when he goes into his tool box. Each tool has a purpose and the RX10 4 does fill a convenience gap and does a very good job at doing so. I selected my cameras on this basis and this is why I did not buy the A7R III because I did not feel the need for such file sizes. It is good to see a pro level photographer speaking well of the Sony RX10 MK4. I think it is one of those cameras you need to pick up and use to realise its potential.
Hello . you have totally said everything i believe in the rx10iv it is brilliant yes and i love using it on a daily basis i capture so many more images now thanks to its speed and range a good quality. thankyou also for your kind words. :) i am also not a full time pro i am semi pro part time as also work on other things so i pick and choose my customers. more videos soon please subscribe if you have not all ready more new videos coming soon :)
You lucked out at Headcorn, great stuff , loved the DC3. But a great selection of shots. That is a cracking piece of kit, waiting for things to slow down here, so I can use mine more.
Hi Stuart for some reason and I can't find why ISO 64 and 80 are blanked out.. can't use them, can you help please? also my infrared light on the front of the camera? how do you turn it off lol.
sorry andrew working a 70 hour week at the moment hense the lack of videos etc scout through the menu you can see the af ir option turn from auto to off not sure exactly where it is as not got camera to hand i wouldnt worry about taking it down that low iso wise it might stop you using them if in an auto mode?
Rob its well worth the money. it is so useable just keep it down at iso 100 as much as possible which is easy as the fast lens is allowing faster shutter speeds and lower iso

Can you follow a target (bird / plane) etc. in the view finder whilst using the burst mode?
yep easily af tracking at 24 photos per second rarely miss a shot
