I love the gift card idea for jobs well done! I always tip my marine technician personally when he takes care of my boat. It is money well spent in my opinion. Love this channel and have really enjoyed catching up on watching all of your videos. The cards are a great idea. Feeling appreciated is how you keep good employees. At the last dealership I worked in (Honda) would do the same and hand out cards. I came back to my boat and found an Interstate battery had exploded. All others were okay, Battery charger was on. Don't know why but what a mess. Plastic bits everywhere. Another Good video.

Great information on batteries. I am considering swapping out my regular batteries to gel cell batteries on my 18 wheeler. I have heard good things over the years on different styles of batteries, what would you do? Also, very clean install on the chiller box. Good job guys!
We’d do AGM on the 18 wheeler & cheaper than gel!

On my Cummins QSB I use a Maxwell capacitor to spin the starter motor, a 5kg maxwell is equal to a cca of 1800, they last forever can operate from minus 10 c to 80 c.

Great video once again, I would love to see a little more of how to exactly do things in videos for us beginners, such as when your tech was dealing with tension on belt, would love to see exactly how a belt is changed on a main, gen etc, and or how to use tension bar or whatever it’s called! You will be to 100,000 in no time, you guys are the best!
Thanks for our kind words .... sometimes its to tight of spots to show the detail! Also lots of this stuff can be hard to understand as a beginner but will do our best. These repairs can be pretty technical!
I live about 3 miles from the viking facility in new gretna NJ, during winter we get from 40 to 0 depending on storms---- my goal is to retire to key west

Your videos have convinced me to stay with lead acid batteries until the technology improves where lithium batteries don't start fires that can't be put out.
We totally recommend AGM so you don’t have to worry about adding water to the batteries!

I love gell cells for boats. AGM's never worked as well for me. If you compare cost of gells to lithium, they are a bargain. Now for liveaboard sailboats, lithium could be a better choice with all the gizmos people want these days.

Those tie bars on the batteries on the viking look pretty thin I’m suprised they handle the amperage draw.

One thing i have found also is the buss bars thats on the batteries that has multiple connections at times thoes bars will look good but be bad also i have found is when you buy batteries at different times and different brands with the same CCA or CA could be totally different power outputs and causes a system not to have correct power
We never mix & match battery manufacturers or dates if someone wants us to we don’t do the job!

I don’t trust lithium either. In fact some insurance providers will not insure yachts with lithium batteries. Unless the battery are professionally installed - some or most will not cover losses. Less than two months ago - a boy and his parents were in a boat in a marina in the Med. the boy somehow got his e-bike in the water and then retrieved it. The article didn’t say whether they rinsed off the bike. They left it in the aft cockpit for the night. The bike caught fire later that night. The pictures of the boat in the report showed it consumed in flames and no remarks were made as to the exists of from the boats interior. The mother died in the fire, the father was severely burned, and the boy was hospitalized. The boat was a total loss. I saw no follow-up story.,
Yes that terrible fire was 4 months ago and we never saw another update on the story! We went and saw the yacht once it was pulled from the water. Very sad 😢
