That is why it is a convenience store in Louisiana. You can conveniently get a fifth or pint of booze with your boudin, cracklin and pickled quail eggs. Those pepper jack boudin balls at Billy's are addicting for sure. Glad you passed by for a visit.
The crawfish is my go to , but they have a chicken ball now that will make you change your mind about the crawfish , now my dozen box is 8 chicken and 4 crawfish 😂
Yes. alcohol is sold at any store in Louisiana, grocery stores, convenient stores, and gas stations, and boudin was originally made in sausage casings, the fried balls are a byproduct of that.
You got that right! I'm a truck driver, and live in Beaumont, TX and when I'm heading home, I always stop at the Billy's in Scott at exit 97 of I-10. Man, I go crazy spending money in there!!!!
Louisiana I never heard a complaint about the food. Boudin looks appetizing everything you were munching on look appetizing hopefully you get a seafood boil while your down there especially in New Orleans peace Matt ✌🏽
Matt, glad to see you swinging through my spots (Houston, Louisiana). Billy's is top notch. Wish you could have tried the "smoked" boudin. It'll hook you!

Good afternoon Matt and Chat ..Nice vlog.. I love Chicken Crackling... When I lived in NYC.. I used to eat it all the time ..Yum. looked delicious 😋safe 🥾.... as always ...
One thing to know .. we’re blessed with so many choices for Boudin and Cracklins. In my opinion (from New Orleans) I like Billy’s boudin balls in all 3 of their variants. And Cracklins from Dons and Best Stop in Scott Louisiana. (Both right off I-10)
Im from Connecticut i been in sourh Louisiana for 6 yrs in my town 1 hr from lafayette we dont have liquor stores .. we get liquor at cvs walgreens gas stations dollar genral and walmart .. billys was a great stop option that is a newer store u visited and you went at a great time because billys be busy . Next time try a boudin link .. safe travels to you always!
Now I know why my brother used ta go down ta NOLA back in the day, and order me up some of that boudin and spices when he was back up here. I would have a problem in there with all those liquors, and all that food, might have ta carry me out. Thanks again, Matt, one more good one. I'm thinkin' about that frozen alligator too.
Billy’s is the bomb !!!! I know this was 2 days ago but the boudin link is fire . I’m from Louisiana . I’m so glad you enjoyed your time here . I worked in Boston in 2002 for a year and I missed my Louisiana food .
I'm on my plant based journey now, but baaaaaby! I miss eating boudin and cracklins (BEST STOP has some of the best) when we visit Louisiana every year. Lousiana, has some of the best down-home cooking in the world! Make sure you stop in Lil Dizzy's in NOLA!
Love the video! My home state! If you are going to New Orleans you must try the chargrilled oysters! Acme Oyster House or New Orleans Food & Spirit. ❤❤
If you’re ever in here in Louisiana again, near lake Charles is a town called Iowa exit 43 next to a pilot truck stop is a little Cajun spot called In-laws… you have to try the fried ribs!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I also like their green beans and the rice dressing 🔥🔥
lol that was krotz springs Billy’s is good but it was 2 other spots less than half a mile from that one. Next time try a smoked link that’s what real Louisiana people love
You should have tried the Billy's boudin links. They're even better. I live 2hrs away in Beaumont, TX and I go to Billy's and spend over $100 there. Stuffed porkchops, stuffed chicken, homemade sausage, and unique Louisiana seasonings. Enjoy!
Green stuff was green onions😅. I go to the hwy 90 location in my rig. U didn't try enough items tho. And u missed out on all the other boudin spots in the area. Scott is the boudin capital of the world. Also my favorite spot in Lafayette is hot food express. The fish n shrimp plate w shrimp fried rice is always a hit and the boom boom shrimp n chicken.
You need to try some alligator sausage. The boudin comes in different flavors: sausage, alligator, crawfish, and shrimp. But it is all delicious. And crackling is always good and best when it is still fresh and hot. God bless and bon temps roule.
Chicken cracklings are Fire 🔥 Especially when they are freshly fried! Billy’s has great food. A lot of great food and chefs in Cajun/ Creole country! Best cooks in the world! Get Meche donuts 🍩 for breakfast while in Lafayette. Laura’s 2 restaurant has great soul food!

Crawfish and the chicken boudin ball hit hard too, but the chicken crackling is new but fiyah too, a lot getting away from the pork crackling but they hit too; Billy’s is my favorite far better than Dons 5:35 - 5:39 they do have links just ask for it, the green are green onions😂

Just watched your boudin balls video!Did the boudin balls taste a Little like regular boudin to you??but with cheese and fried? I’m asking a question I know the answer to,,😮 yes it’s boudin rolled with a pepper jack cheese and flour and breadcrumbs then fried long enough to turn a pretty brown! Omg if one or two breaks in the middle of frying,, what a mess, make you a thinner strainer to strain rice😂 😂 This brought back memories of my managing a deli for years days!❤ I love LA the whole boot!🥾 eats and cooking and the people, (most)are friendly caring people,, anyways it’s been home all my life!
