He does have a point in all sales final. Anyone can replace with a solid rep and sell back. There’s a TH-camr currently being sued by Nike for doing this at one of their stores.
They’re able to tell the difference in a fake and real shoe. If the shoe is unworn they should be able to trade back for equal value of the original purchase within 30 days

You could buy a shoe for $300 then next week it drops to $200. Hence why they’ll buy back the shoes but at the current market price with enough room for them to make money again.

Yo actually though. Like he's the merchant, and while it's true the customer really isn't ALWAYS right, you have to give them the benefit most of the time. Especially working in commissions and sales - just making the customer feel right and swallowing your pride can result in more sales without giving up anything. Like telling the customer you feel disrespected by them talking to another employee to see if they can get more $, that's crazy. You there to get in your feeling's or make money??

Proper customer service would be to explain the policy, and how it’s non negotiable and not anything the staff has control over. Even though I understand why you would have a ''All sales are final'' policy, having a ''buy back'' option is also contradictory. You would not buy back a pair of shoes that are fake, therefore offering lower price than originally sold for is pure profit for the store ( in the cases where the pair can be sold as ''brand new''). Now, it's true that it does come with risks, regarding the legitimacy of said shoes, to the store, however there are ways to verify the authenticity without having your costumers come out with a loss of money for changing their minds about a brand new pair. I'm all for the ''All sales are final'' policy, but using it to make money seems greedy to me.
You check if there fake when people are selling so why can’t you check them for being fake if there returning and why can’t you buy them back for the same price he bought it for

I swear, in Europe this kind of thing doesn't exist, no matter what you write on the receipt, you have 14 days to return an item you've bought. No matter what the store rules are. But that doesn't exist in the US

Prob be better to just charge a "restocking fee" with returns. Declining a return is a great way to wind up with a charge back, and even if you win the charge back, you still pay the fee for the bank dealing with the inquiry.
