Gachagua's call for unity was preceded by his declaration that Kenya was like a company of shareholders of which non shareholders have no stake. But he forgot that unlike a company, the Govt collects taxes from everyone. That led to their first point of departure with Ruto because Ruto publicly stated the opposite, notwithstanding the fact that Ruto might have been playing politics.

Nobody cares about Mt Kenya unity or even disunity for that matter. Before Gachagua's call for Mt. Kenya unity, we remember that he went around preaching divisive and ethnically vitriolic politics of shareholders and non-shareholders. That was the point where Ruto first rebuked him publicly. So when he calls for unity in Mt. Kenya, is it a continuation of unity of shareholders (against non-shareholders)? It is such questions that lead most Kenyans to doubt Gachagua's sincerety in calling for Mt. Kenya unity!
