  • I snagged this Crosley Portable Turntable at JC Penny for $39 during Black Friday sale. Its a fun little portable player. Has Bluetooth in and out, plus line out if you want to use external speakers. I really dig this for what it is. Let me know what you think down below!

    Just got one as a gift. I have not played LP’s since I was a kid- that’s all I used to listen to… the DOORS, Fleetwood Mac, etc back in the day. And I have to say, though you may not get the hi fidelity experience with this - it is an awesome little record player. I hooked it up to my stereo system and sounds pretty good! But it’s not just about the sound- it’s about the experience. There is a warmth and connection to the music as you hear the little scratches on the vinyl. Holding the jacket and sitting down reading the lyrics, looking at the pictures or art while listen to a side of the album - is an experience- it is an event - something different then what you get on a one-off on our phones . It forces you to appreciate the composition of the album and song selection without rushing off to the next “recommended” song on a digital algorithm. Both have its place, but it’s nice to slow down a bit and just enjoy the experience . Anyway, the CROSLEY is a good entry for someone new to vinyl or someone just wanting to listen to some old records again!

    Omg i got this player for Christmas its my first time using a record player, tysm I literally had no clue how to use on of them but, does it matter how you position the needle? And if so how are you supposed to do it?

    • @TheRealCobraBurnout
      @TheRealCobraBurnout  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are asking about placing the needle onto the record, then just do as I did in the vid. Use the lever to raise the needle arm. Position it over the outer portion of the record. Use the lever to lower the arm. It will slow lower onto the record. If you lower the arm somewhere else on the record it will be fine but it just starts playing at whatever part of the album that its. So it maybe in the middle of a song or whatever.

    What should I do if mine makes a scratchy noise when I use it? I just bought it and every time I’ve tried to play a record it makes a scratchy noise. And when I attempt to lower the volume it messes up the sound and just sounds even scratchier :(

      Check the label on the bottom of your record player. It will tell you the size of the power adapter needed. Mine says it uses a AC power adaptor (DC output 5V 1A). The volts are important as some of the players use 12V instead of 5v. Here is one on Amazon to look at for a starting point: amzn.to/3OjDK1G
      If still not sure, I recommend contacting Crosley to verify what you need for your model number. crosleyradio.com/contact-us

      @@dominikskraburski3489 after reading a lot on the internet I found out that the sound coming directly from the record is normal but the intensity (or how much it interferes with the sound coming out of the speakers) depends on the quality of the turntable. I decided to return it and buy an audio-technica instead. I'm really happy now.

    Asking a naïve millennial, is it right to expect a loss in sound quality if your using Bluetooth? Does it affect that rich sound you get from listening to analog?

It's just that if you're playing them on this, you're not noticing it."
