My mother, who would have been 90 this year, demo’d this dance to me when I was in high school. She said she and her friends did it when they were in HS! 1946? She was almost as good as you!
wow - i haven't seen that in years - same here, as quilter nancy - my mom is 92 this year and she taught this to me as a little girl! Nice memory thanks!
I live in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and your English is better than the average person on my block. New York West Indies talk has a flair like nowhere else!
Well, that was awesome enough. :>) Researching the history of the camel walk brought me here. I heard it mentioned in a rockabilly song from the 50's; didn't realize it dates all the way back to ragtime and the Roaring '20's.
You should change the name of the step because it is already belonging to all of the Shriners who actually do the real camel walk so out of respect to them and us. Love the dance but please call it something else ok.
I'm Black, I have soul, so really all I have to do is just look at another black man dancing and pretty much copy it. We don't need all the technical stuff. Soul will take care of the rest

You done a excellent job teaching the camel walk. I remember the camel walk dance from the 70s. You are very good.
very good video, beautiful production, and I like that you show footage of the dance "in real life" before showing the steps.
You are a great teacher!❤

@@yasolori correct. Very little in the way of new steps. They did it all back then!
