I'll definitely try to get this (as a historic built-in-steel ship, and I'm a sucker for mid-tier ships).
As to the ship herself, lacking Nurnberg's 360-traverse on the X & Y turrets is going to take a bit of getting used to. She'll be one of those ships which does best when the enemy is pushing (turret config, meh main battery range, and crazy torp DPM), which isn't so often. Airstrike ASW continues the silly trend among German cruisers of their allocation of ASW making zero sense whatsoever. -_-
I like it because of its historical to, hopefully won't be hard to get
I love playing mid tier ships also. Way more brawling at lower tiers. So much more fun

Man, look at those torp arcs and the reload. Co-op and operations players are going to love this thing.
IDK, the torps are basically identical to Nürnberg apart from range, and in Co-op you'd usually use them as yolo torps anyway so range doesn't really matter. Nürnberg in turn gets superior guns. In operations that longer torp range probably does matter more though, and being a premium of course gets you better income which is great for operations.
@@wombat4191 Reload time on Nurnberg torps is 68 seconds, which is not that much slower, but I think Leipzig's launch arcs are much friendlier. It's a close-run thing.
@@Ensign_Cthulhu Reload is the exact same 68 on Leipzig as well. The angles seemto be ever so slightly better though, but not that much.
What has it been? A year? This thing feels like forever ago it was announced on the dev blog with British subs, the Renown 44 (I think) and the STILL missing Monmouth.
Half of the shots going into the mountain at 5:50 looks like the new aiming bug from the latest Flamu video.

At 5:46 you fire and the back turrets hit the island, that's because you zoomed out as you fired. It's a new bug, if you look at the minimap, the circle moves for a moment as you zoom in a d out because reasons, so wait for the zoom to complete or it changes your aim distance
Knowing how you play constantly zooming in and out, you'll be affected a lot by it, that's why you are having so many inconsistent salvos lately as you are firing before it's settled, don't zoom mid salvo!

Thank you for the ship review - early & on time! I found this ship very slow on turrets and rudder - you have alot of torps but you cant get them out of you on target fast enough - i found that DDs were owning me - its a ship that wants to be kiting from pushes thank you!!! Awesome review spot on!

It's another one of those bugs weegee put in the game. Happens when you fire and scope out and its pretty annoying :(

You only get 40 tokens from combat missions iirc. Open your wallet and whale in if you want the rest.
yeah about that.... my clanmate sent a ticket to WG about this very bug..... Turns out its an intended feature
you can get 50 token for 9 € ( can do that 14 time) it will cost you 27 € to buy that way ... but 27€ is a few cent more than 7500 duub in the game shop AAANNNDD max price of prenium T6 ship ( in shop ) is 5800 duub, sure you will get a silly robot commander with 10 skill point some bonus flag and the 200% xp bonus for one month, and port space... still cost more than other T6 cruiser and no way to use coupon on it ( oh and 5 sci fi space camo, so just junk).
This video popped up at the right time, as it's an early reward in the next dockyard. I have a semi-trained Premium German cruiser as well, she could be very handy for Tier VI games.
I like torp cruisers such as Pan-Asian cruisers, this boat could work for me.

Yet this ship is just another affirmation, that gun focused builds on cruisers are much more consistent than the torp focused ones. Or at least it is better in long term to use hybrid builds even on ships like YODO or JINAN.
No matter how good these torps, on cruisers they are just a nice bonus but not the main source of damage most of the time (except those few games in 100 when enemies just go strait line to you and die).

It's a great little and powerful ship on TVI. I call it my little "Mainz" since I do well with it in Randoms. The opportunity to torp a lot with great concealment is a real gift.

I rather play Nürnberg which i dont play cause mid tier cruiser that is an overmatch victim without heal.
Having to rely on torps that much with a cruiser is just bad. That conceal is nice, but you got to get close and once you re spotted, BBs will just smash you regardless of the angle.
Btw, the pronoucation of "Leipzig" was spot on :) For english speakers: "Lyp-zig" Saxon dialect speakers pronounce it more like "Lypsh".
Exactly my friend. Nurm is a great ship that can citadel the hell out of cruisers. That’s why I love it. Plus I got a permo camo for free way back so I get the extra bonuses for playing the ship when I do play it.

In a 1v1 fight on mid range as cruisers often do Nurnberg would destroy Leipzig with 6 seconds reload

13.5km main gun range on a ship that eats citadel like cookie monster eats cookies. Cool looking ship but no thank you.
You need to start playing subs, get into match where everyone has map ping mode and then you will see why can't everyone have 10km airstrike.Basically imagine you can once per ~50 sec fire easy to dodge solve that will at best do 20k dmg to battleships (if they don't know how to preform simple accustic dodge), however if you do, then every time you will lose on average 80% hp. Which is also why shotgunning became only viable gameplay style and that's without every ship having airstrike to keep lobbing in on cooldown.
Was looking forward to this ship but of course WG had to put it in another scummy sequential bundle again. You can only earn 40 tokens in total

Not having the 360 degree rear turrets of Nurnberg is kind of a deal-killer for me. Here’s a proposal: 360 degree rear turrets for Leipzig and Roon.

I paid £21 for my Leipzig. Worth every penny. She's the light cruiser with the identity crisis. She's a German light cruiser that thinks she's a Japanese torpedo destroyer lol

Avoid this ship at al cost it is a cheap ripp off of normal Nurenberg with much worse guns. 6 full saLvoes in a row on a broadside BB at 8 km range (3 ap salvoes, 3 HE salvoes)..... 2700 damage. All HE salvoes: zero damage. Those 6 salvoes drained all my will to play any further with this crap vessel.
You would have had the same results with the Nurenberg, the guns are exactly the same, but the Nurenberg fires a little more faster.

@@Seahorn_ IK, but your complaint was not about the rotation of this ships guns, it was about not being able to pen a broadside BB, or doing much damage to it .Nurenberg would’ve probably given the same results because the guns are of equal caliber. Though yes, Nurenburg does shoot more faster, so it might’ve helped you deal a bit more damage in that regard.
Leipizig should be played differently in the first place.
It’s still very powerful in its own way.
And Leipzig also has a better ASW
