First class, the TV channels could learn a lot from these old sort of programs. Very entertaining and enjoyable. Thank you very much for sharing them with us.🌟🥂
Came across this by accident now I'm watching them all, love Sergeant Corke his wisecracks are great. Excellent so glad to have found it thank you 👍 BW
Yes when lots of the stuff got transferred from film to the early type of video. I forget what it was called. You might be able to remind me. The tape was so expensive that once the live episode got filmed very often it was wiped and covered over with something else and the original film if any of it was done on film was never kept from about the 60s onwards except for very successful episodes or like you say international stuff.
@ the other process your comment triggered in My memory was called Kinescope which used a very high speed video tape but on the machine, from memory, that looked like a big movie projector.
@@malcolmwhite6588 Telerecording is the term used for that in the UK back then. Using a 16mm film camera to film a TV monitor and record what was being aired. This is how for example some episodes of Steptoe and Son survived from the BBC.
I missed this when it was first posted, but have been enjoying the other episodes. Seeing this first episode answered some questions! Thanks. This really is a top-tier series, with great stories and acting. Thank you.
I’d heard Kim Newman mention this show in an interview extra on some deluxe Blu-ray edition of something, and he went on about how good it was, so I’ve been curious about it. And now that you’ve uploaded a bunch of episodes, I sampled it. And dammit, it looks to be absolutely spiffing, so I just hauled off and bought the complete series DVD box set off eBay for $70. You’re very dangerous to my wallet. Looks like there’s lots of other goodies to be sampled here too; I’d never heard of Cluff but it looks like I’ll get stuck into that too! I also just ordered the DVD of Tales of Unease thanks to you! Love your channel! 📺🤓
Watched the first episode last night with my girlfriend-we both loved it of course, being huge fans of many British police procedurals and this one is right up there with the best of them judging from what I’ve seen so far, an absolute banger. You’ve minted two new Sergeant Cork fans!
Notice that the Superintendent has an OBE. (Officer of The Most Excellent Order of The British Empire). This Oder of Knighthood was not created until 1917!
Thanks for sharing these vintage shows. It's definitely a refreshing change of pace from modern entertainment.

Great Opener! Great Share! Great Detective Duo, complimentary... thanks from America 😊 🇺🇸
Another series I’d never heard of. Many thanks. 🙏
Brilliant; clever, so amusing, especially when these two first meet. Thank you so much!
You're welcome
I subscribed! Keep up the great work.🙏
@@amcguigan2389 Thank you.

How this didn't get wiped is amazing. It must have been earmarked for international sales and so it survived.

@@malcolmwhite6588You might be referring to U-matic video tapes, which had a much greater width than VHS.
@ cheers for that👍

I'm really enjoying this series, "Sergeant Cork." I particularly enjoyed this case about the reluctant widow. Take care ⚖

Amazing. I watched this series many years ago. Really enjoyed it then. Looking forward to watching again.
Thank you this is such a great series. I like to watch some of the episodes a couple of times there's so much to take in.

@@WaverBoy That's good to hear.
so much better written and acted than 10 dead bodies in Oxford
