Yes, the Victorian upper-classes actually lived in more extreme "clutter". Queen Victoria was a photographer fanatic, and her tables were filled with them, ornately framed. You can probably Google Victorian interior design or something...
More interesting than most English detective stories of the Victoria era. The clash between the stratified classes is more obvious than Upstairs Downstairs. Love it when Cork pops the many overblown egos of the aristocracy.
I really love the sets used in this series. But, did they really live with so much furniture and other "clutter"? I can't imagine how they navigated their homes, especially after quaffing a glass or 3 - or more!
