Fascinating. I find I'm getting into these old illuminated manuscripts and alot of the experts in these documentaries are women. I'm also taking a calligraphy class, most of the people there are women and our teacher is a woman of the church. It really is inspiring too, when women are amibtious and confident, I think that has a strange effect on men.
very interesting to hear about the women scribes. and it makes you wonder what was happening in society that women of the early Anglo-Saxon period had more freedoms than they did later on.
