She is undoubtedly a top tier exploration unit. C1 very fun but optional as usual. Also her 15% gliding speed boost is very useful. I would still prioritize getting Wanderer before her if you want the absolute best overworld unit.
If I had to make quick Overworld unit ranking it would be:
1.Wanderer
2.C1 Yelan
3.C1 Xianyun
4.C0 Yelan
5.C0 Xianyun
6.Kazuha
7.Furina

For the last one, you can actually do E>glide for 1 second > E > glide for another 1s > E to maximize horizontal travel distance
Wanderer + Xianyun = Best exploration combo
+ yelan + furina!! The best bulldozer team ❤
It still baffles me as to why she cant use her e mid air, comeon she is a literal bird

Gonna chime in and say "same". Been considering getting her C1 for exploration , and this vid is exactly what I wanted to see. Heck, even the team comp is exactly the same as my exploration team comp

Xianyun would have been so useful when I was exploring Liyue for the first time.
I think Yelan is best for Mondstadt, Inazuma and overland exploration.
so for climbing mountain, u kinda want to use xy, while for traveling between mountain, you use wanderer alr. some tips as well, if u slide off the mountain when climbing u can jump and then plunge (u want the mountain wall to be diagonal) just so u landed and then spam na/ca to maintain your position (yes, you cannot fall when u do this as well) then u can use skill to climb again, pretty much infinite climbing

in land I use sprint jump sprint jump sprint jump ,cause when u jump your enegry regenerate 👍

I use both. Very good combo in terms of speed and flexibility
Wanderer can fly but he have very bad stamina eating so quickly..
His stamina can be extended with Hydro due to his passive ability though. You can use either Xingqiu or Barbara for that.

if her skill can trigger mid air, it will be so broken with c1. you basically flying the whole teyvat.
Some of these Wanderer is ending with his skill already cooled down and Xianyun has 9 sec for the first charge to come back. Thanks for posting the comparison. They look pretty equal to me.

well you are missing many tricks with wandeerer, like dashing with him right as he has 0 stamina, press jump on his skill right before his skill ends, only press shift while going on a inclined plane instead of w+shift, that will make u go faster and so on...

xianyun is the way for me, her jumps feel so nice to use plus she's pretty and she can heal

but are good, but wanderer is a dps and xianyun has more utilities as healer, support to plunge attacks, synergy with furina and her passive helps in plane faster, if you has good dps Xianyun is better option, if you need a dps save for alhaitham, neuvillete, arlechino, clorinde etc. And wanderer is slow to fall and run, because he has short legs, so in most situations Xianyun is better for exploration

@@BenBeckman888 Did you realize that the playable DPS you mentioned in addition to not needing XY for the healer slot, don't even want to plung?
The plunge mechanic is too niche and boring as it makes every character look the same ignoring their gameplay mechanics ,and in 90% of cases you do even less damage than the classic gameplay of the aforementioned characters.
And if you don't use her plung mechanic which most DPS don't want she's just another Jean, Wanderer on the other hand has much more value because it's all in one for exploration (flying, dps, self buffs) ,all this at C0, you can literally just use him in a team and you're good.
And no even if he is short he is still faster than XY when u bunnyhop with him.
at this rate i'd expect natlan patch to release a character with pyro propulsion

@@nyuuhhonestly I don’t even see how it would be op, it would never benefit us in combat, considering how big the map is now I’d be solely for exploration. Allowing her to use her skill mid-air would’ve also convinced more people to pull for her, this could’ve been a win-win situation.

Personally, CR is WAY more fun in the long term, because if you want to change main dps or the team comp CR is flexible enough regardless if you want her for plunges or as a jean substitute. but once youre bored of scara's playstyle, youre stuck with him if you want the exploration convience

Would you recommend getting wanderer purely for the exploration qualities? Because I don’t like his playstyle and there wouldn’t be more value for me so I’m very conflicted rn
Genshin consists of so much exploration, so if you like to explore, i would consider pulling for him. I dont know how to go back to exploring without him, cus every team without him feels soooo slow and restrictive. I have yelan, kazuha, and other characters with exploration skills, but i definitely think wanderer is the best one out of them when it comes to exploration. I dont have xianyun tho, so hard for me to say if she is better. I do want to know what you dont like about his playstyle, cus out of all the characters i own, his is my favorite.
Yea I honestly believe Wanderer has the highest pull value in the entire game currently due to the game being 90% exploration.
This could change tho if we ever get any actual challenging endgame but I doubt this is ever happening 😢

I did pull for wanderer PURELY for exploration. Let me tell you, he is WORTH every single primogems spent. I never used him for battles (Abyssal spiral) since I didn’t like his play-style but when used for explorations, he killed it. I usually pair him with his mama nahida and shinobu. Since Nahida and shinobu can wipe the entire face of Teyvat with no problems so I barely needed to use wanderer for battle, and the last slot is whatever element the puzzles most likely required.
Only xianyun c6 power creeps wanderer, wanderer is still the best for exploring, but my only issue is I can't play both in my exploration team due to personal preferences.
Like I always run double anemo, one is always wanderer and the other is venti, the other two are flexible but most of the time I just run dehya and yelan, now I don't like replacing anyone cause xianyun just doesn't do enough.
Looks like they were too busy planning those lantern rite rewards to fix her skill not working mid air 💀

Yeah I think it's criminal that Hoyo didn't let her use her skill mid-air like Kazuha, what are the beta testers doing? they should've reported that as a bug.
Fix it? If they are doing that they might as well double Wanderers fly time and triple Yelan's ground speed. Hell, why not make Anemo resonance give you an 80% speed boost. Its fine as it is. Any more and people who don't want her are getting punished for it.
I never regret pull Xianyun, been playing this game for 3 years and this character is the most fun when it comes to exploration for me even with C0.
Wanderer not for me because he feels slow when it comes to movement and I hate there's stamina bar on it.
With Xianyun you just tap one button E and move a little bit direction with mouse and not worry about stamina, you just wait for cooldown and keep exploring, making the experience of exploring feel fast and limitless.

@@mavisseafoam Pretty sure they make Xianyun cooldown longer because she's faster in terms of movement, you need different button to make Wanderer move after using his skill. Wanderer feels clunky in terms of his movement at least for me, Xianyun is fast jump rush forward, who only need to move in one button. Again, it's not about number, it's about experience of me playing it.

@@mavisseafoamI do have Xianyun and she has a cooldown reduction passive of 3s if you don't activate plunge during E(?) so at least they did consider exploration and made it more comfy with her E waiting time. Also if you're moving in a horizontal direction, extra walking/dash time between sequences can make it seem limitless.
