  • Since July 7th 1977, the Poor Clares have been quietly praying for all the people in the Arlington Diocese behind their monastery walls in Alexandria, Virginia. Bishop Welsh gave them a special mission to pray for vocations to the priesthood. The Poor Clares follow the rule of Saint Clare and make vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, and a fourth vow of enclosure. For the year of Consecrated Life, the Arlington Catholic Herald interviewed four of the sisters to talk about their vocation and unique way of life.

Father, you misunderstand what "preaching to the choir' means.

With due respect, you need to erase your comment because it is disrespectful to those who are proud of their vocation.

The cold feet thing is absolutely ridiculous. Jesus loves us without that.

      It’s a form of mortification, self-denial.

Didn't Christ walk to the mountain bare? Yes, it is true God loves us bare or not bare, yet he will be much pleased if we imitate him and seek the most perfect imitation of Christ. Does God ask whether we decided to wear or not wear any shoes in our lifetime? These women do this as an act of love and mortification for their beloved spouse.

With due respect, fact is, God gave himself to The Jews. Why Judaism is 1st Testament. Every person, soul, spirit, prophet, gospel, Jewish. False prophets, charlatans, Judaic traitors, plagiarized God's word, created a 2nd testament & turned Jesus The Jew Catholic. Thus, forever bastardizing Judaism, his name, his love and devotion. Very ungodly of Christians cause of great pain for Jesus.

The Jews are the older brothers and sisters of us Christians. We revere their covenant with God and see its completion in the Person of Jesus, the Creator's Divine Son. We are all God's children, equally loved.

What Jews? These are Talmudists, Christian haters, Zionists . Judaism ended with Jesus.
