    As someone who is gluten-free and sensitive to gluten, I really appreciate this video! I haven't gone since 2019, so I appreciate a refresher on the park food :)

    That was brave of you to try gluten-free food for your friends and us viewers. As someone who has to eat on a Paleo-style diet it can be even more of a challenge to eat at a theme park.

      The food was all pretty good. The only concern that I had was I couldn’t be a true critic of their Gluten-free measures.
      Everything seemed really great. Labeled allergy-safe items, delivered on separate trays, etc.
      But my old boss’s daughter is a severe Celiac and she can’t even eat 90% of what people claim is gluten-free.
      So I know that it won’t be great for everyone. But I also assume those people are aware of it.
      So the aim of this video is to just show what options are available in the parks and how we felt they measured up to the non-gluten-free variety of the same meal.

    I am coeliac and really appreciate this video. Thank you so much. I hope you consider doing more videos like this.

    I'm diabetic. Not to the point where I need insulin, but I have to watch my diet. I TRIED to ask Disneyland a question directly, and got an email with a non-answer, telling me they want all their visitors to enjoy their visit. So I STILL don't know if there are any options for those marvelous drinks everyone raves over. Unfortunately, gluten-free does not mean sugar-free. So as delicious as a Dole Whip looks, it would probably kill me. I am sure I would die happy.

      Unfortunately there isn’t a sugar-free dole whip. You’d probably be able to find sugar free pre-packaged sweets in the bake shops, but I can’t think of anywhere else in Disney that’s sugar-free.
      It is a pain for sure. At least once a year I severely reduce my sugar intake to lose weight and I usually have to just not eat Disney sweets and stick with the savory snacks. I know the ice cream places usually have at least one “no sugar added” option.
      Of course, that doesn’t help with the drinks at all.
      Disney is usually really great about making MEALS custom order if you have allergies at sit down restaurants but I doubt that extends to sugar-free desserts if it’s not already on their menu.

    Thank you for doing a GF video! I’m not sure if they still offer it - but the Blue Bayou would do a GF Monte Cristo sandwich for you if you call ahead - it was amazing!

      Unfortunately, we rarely stay for those. So we don’t really know. I can tell you for Harmonious, we plan to stand over by France so we have a quick exit to the skyliner. But that has nothing to do with view.
      I doubt we will even stay for a nighttime show the rest of the week in any of the other parks.

    Absolutely love your site guys. I’ve been watching every single one of your videos as we are going to Disneyland, Anaheim in May.. in regards to the whip I understand it’s gluten-free yay, but is it also dairy free?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, to my knowledge (based on research). But it is always best to ask in person if you have any hesitations or reservations.

    Hello Trevor and family 🙆‍♀️ Could you do an updated video on Gluten Free food as there is new restaurants that opened in 2023. if you do one can you include more meals with a softer palette like chicken and potatoes. I know that at the time of this video there was not as many GF offerings and the ones that were available were all spicy 🌶️ I hear that there are some restaurants with pasta now. Thanks 🧚‍♀️🏴‍☠️

      We have talked about doing this. Yes! I can’t promise as to when though. We have a good video planned for tomorrow. And then on our next visit as a family Christmas food will be launching.

    It's funny to watch people that don't have to eat gluten free eat the only food we can eat!! When you have Celiacs disease you are so thankful for anything to eat😊

    So awesome that you did a video like that. There are so many people who have to have gluten-free and other allergies. The dole whip is my go too. But I agree raspberry/pineapple dole whip swirl is the best. I like the float as well. Cherry is not appealing to me.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It wasn’t as bad as it sounds (the Cherry) but Raspberry is definitely better.

    Thank you for your video!! Is the pineapple dole whip dairy free also ?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! At least the Pineapple flavor is, I can’t speak 100% to the others. I know that when vanilla is involved, it is not. But it’s possible all fruit flavors are. I would just ask before you order. But the pineapple definitely is from my research.

    Teriyaki sauce is usually not gluten free. Gluten is in soy sauce and can also can also be used to thicken sauces so it's always best to use the gluten allergy menu or talk to a chef.

      It was okay. 😂 I don’t think I like gluten free buns though. Haha.

  • @mommymint

    As someone whom is celiac, Buns area had thing to get right, Buns are. either chewy or tough. I am vegetarian not vegan and have to eat gluten free. I also have an anaphylactic reaction to shellfish. Disney world was so much fun to eat at. I was not worried about where is the nearest bathroom. We are going to Disneyland soon and I am scared to be honest! I had so many wonderful meals at WDW. Thank you for sharing. I need more tips and places to eat ad Disneyland and DCA as well as universal if any of the viewers have any suggestions. I want to have fun and not be taken down by being poisoned.. thanks again

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s any consolation to you, Disneyland is far and above way better at food than Walt Disney World. A recurring theme among the WDW vloggers when they visit Disneyland is how much better our food is here.
      I have only ever eaten these gluten free items in this video. So I can’t speak to the rest of the menu. But generally, Disneyland is better.
      So if you had a good time with WDW food, I’m hopeful it’ll be just as good or better for you here.

    Is it also sugar free made with a more healthy sweetener?

      Nothing is sugar free at Disney as far as I’m aware.

    I will note that for some reason soy sauce isn't gluten free, so I wouldn't bet on the Chinese food being safe unless it specifically says so. But as a pescatarian coeliac with a nut allergy it's good to know I can at least live on cookies and dole whip lol

      That’s something we’d like to do eventually. Amy talks about it every now and again as her family stopped there on a road trip from Utah to Florida once.

      We haven’t been there in quite awhile, but it would be a good one to try to visit again one of these day.
