  • Today I’m bringing you a video that is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT. I know it will be CRAZY beneficial to a lot of naturals out there. How to detangle dry matted natural hair! Most especially after a really long protective style. This is so important if you want to maintain length for OPTIMAL HAIR GROWTH! I hope this helps!
Ensure that when finger detangling you are doing this gently and carefully seprating the knots and not breaking them apart! When you feel like you can comfortably glide a comb through your hair then and only then should you use a comb to do this!

I've not always been good about detangling and cutting the single strands. I think so many lose sight of the process but want to fast forward to the length. If we don't have the process together it will only be more difficult over time as hair grows. Thanks so much for this insight.

Hi Janet, thank you for creating this series. I used your tips on detangling and deep conditioning. I am happy to report that my hair feels great! Minimal tangles and it feels like butter 😀. Also I shed the least amount of hair while moisturizing this morning.
Thank you so much for helping me 🙏🏾. Each time I got tired of finger detangling and grabbed my Tangle Teezer, I heard your voice saying, “only when it’s safe, use your brush or wide tooth comb”. It took forever but it was worth it.
    Thanks again 🙏🏾

The one thing that helped me slow down and take my time during wash day while finger detangling was having something playing in the background-I turn on music or an audio book or a podcast, etc., so that I don't feel miserable while I'm spending hours on my hair.

I have been watching your videos because you give such good information for my natural hair, but I kept saying she reminds me of someone and then I remembered Jaleesa (Dawn Lewis) from A Different World😊

Kudos for mentioning that method is more important than products. You really do know your hair so you're successful with length retention.

My hair is so thin it breaks when I try to finger detangle... Better for me is a wide tooth comb starting from the ends up. It takes forever... I always question my life at the time.
