  • Way back in 2022, I won an eBay auction of 24 pounds of Lego parts. I finally got all those parts uploaded to my Lego Bricklink store, and here are some videos describing the process.

It must be satisfying to get to the end. My brain like this sort of thing too. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the video. If you ever do another similar, it would be interesting to track your hours as well. This is something my wife and I like to do when we want to feel extra discouraged…..😂

Really enjoy these kinds of videos. It's fun and helpful to see others sort and add items to inventory and inspires me to work on the huge amount of bulk I am trying to get into my own inventory. Thanks for sharing your porcess with us!

Awesome video, love your dedication . I'm a number person and did a little math here. With the number you posted it took you 38 weeks to process that eBay lot. That mean in the end you made roughly about $21 a week in profit. That's definitely not alot but if it's something you enjoy and is fun the $$$$ isn't an issue. Sorry for the long post. I just see a lot of people thinking oh yeah I can make $$$ from selling Lego and yes you can but it's not a easy road to riches. Anyway enough of my 2 cents. Have a wonderful day.😊

And that is why I never track how many hours it takes me to sort an eBay win! LOL I have feeling if I figured that out, then I wouldn't want to do this anymore. I know some people have figured out how to run their store for their mainstream income, but they have magic formula of new parts / minifigures needed to that. Much harder with used parts, because you never know what you are going to get. This business is my way to relax and have something to focus on when work (and life) gets difficult. :-)

Nice to see one haul end-to-end.
I don't really keep the hauls separated to see what profit I've actually made. I just don't have the space for it. Also, I sometimes put them together to get a bit more pieces of the same category before I catalog them.
How do you price your parts? Current average?

I price at the 6 month average. I think this keeps my prices competitive, but not so low I'm losing money on the order.
