I got my ka in November it’s my first car it’s perfect for me. She’s a 2009 but the higher end spec so it has electric windows and buttons on the key etc to open the boot and in the 3 months I’ve had her she’s only had £55? In petrol in it she runs great and just right for me.
I've had my 2010 KA for a few weeks now. Just did a 1600km road trip with it. The computer said my fuel consumption was 5.5l/100km but I calculated it and it actually was 6.3l. Still not bad! I am thinking of getting an aftermarket armrest from ebay. The only down side i can think of is the timing belt. It needs to be serviced every 60 000km or 5years. That's pretty often imo.
I’m looking at a ka pop 2012 which is wind down windows no central locking not even air con! Totally fine for me to bimble about in and deep down I’m totally fine with basic cars. To be fair it takes me back to the days before all the technology went bonkers.
I like that Jacket it reminds me of the Late Steve McQueen i swear he wore that jacket in a racing movie once but totally the wrong car for it LOL the Ford KA is basically a Fiat 500 with a different body , I bought a Cheap i10 recently the facelift 2011 model fast in a straight line for a little car but not good in the corners £2500 not cheap either but only car i could find from a local trusted dealership.
@@BarrieCrampton Awesome 😎👍 it's a cool Jacket and il have to look that movie up I think 🤔 I must've seen it as a kid but forgot apart from that jacket lol the branding on it I remembered 👍
And yeah the small cars of the past are now Ford Focus sized good example i was given a Corsa GS 2023 model for 2 weeks as a courtesy car after my accident 2 months back and the GS Corsa is like same size as the old Astra and ridiculously powerful 1.4 turbo 165bhp i believe , So imagine your buying your son or daughter their first car ? they would never get insured on the new Corsa or the new Ford Puma because the BHP is way too high , the car i learned to drive in 20 years ago was a 1.1 Rover Metro only like 65bhp that was safe and still fun to drive , I think there is an agenda to price new drivers off the roads and to also force us all into EVs its all about control by the govt.
Need to mention - Wet belt. These are Ford's disastrous wet belt engines. Replace every 4 years or 40k miles.. Cost is about £1k. If they had a chain driven engine it'd be the perfect car. Also, this is based on the Fiat 500, so issues with oil pan also common. Check that any car you buy has had the belt done.. properly.. and check that oil!
Good to see more "affordable " cars being reviewed 👍🏾
We are just short of space otherwise we would still be doing them

electric will never take over as there worse overall when it comes to carbon
I have the same Ford KA but with the steering wheel on the right because I live in France. The Ford. KA is an improved Fiat 500.
