Y'know, I don't always get the "Hey, this dude actually played (and enjoyed) the game" vibes from every Honest Trailers video, but I can definitely tell he enjoys Armored Core.
The worst part is, the story is actually impactful. What little you understand on the first playthrough still makes you feel bad through the choices you have to make.

So suddenly when you have to make a choice between endings what happens to the characters hit hard.

The fact FromSoftware didn't even *need* to make the game but chose to do it anyways is why they're a legendary studio-in-the-making, imo. The rep they built with the entire Soulsborne series (I really wish Bloodborne could be released to all consoles as it is an AMAZING game) meant people like me who never played an Armored Core game but loved the Soulsborne series would choose to give AC a try just because of those games. Ya know, the more I think about it the more I feel it’s kinda unfair to harp on souls like to be “too difficult”. I’m beginning to think that they just stuck to the old way video games challenged you. You know make them to where you do need to learn to play at least decently in order to progress. When I think on ff XVI and the “difficulty” of that game it was almost insulting because it felt like they thought we were to stupid or incompetent to complete it without help. OR they were so afraid they’d lose players in their effort to appeal to everyone that they just turned it into hand holding so people wouldn’t quit. I really feel like when games or movies or whatever go that route, trying to appeal to the most people possible, they just water down whatever was appealing the first place and we end up with a boring bunch of nonsense. I made sure to at least finish XVI, at 83 hours, before I said much about it, but no, I didn’t end up liking it at all. First time for everything I guess.
As a gamer with almost 28 years of diverse gameplay xp this Armored Core, my first one actually, was one of those games who made me proud of beeing a player...the mountain of struggle you have to climb to achieve excelence in this game is so epicly rewarding that for the first time playing a video game I felt capable of doing something that I thought I couldn't. Definetely a life long feeling of fullfilment...
What made me cry is I tried to make the same mech as I did in ACFA, with shotguns and spread weapons....Only to find out the zimmerman is the hated meta.
The epic voice (tm) is of course amazing, but the fact that the HT team knows all the joys and pains of a game so well is what puts the narration over the top. Goddamn I can't stop watching these lol

Honestly, seeing so many people get filtered by the tutorial and Balteus fills me with glee imagining how they would react to the CEL 240 fight.
I think it would be mostly incoherent screeching? Probably not all that entertaining, and likely to break expensive electronics.
hehe
Remember 9 Ball?
@@lml55oh God please no 😱
Feels like your having the most epic anime fight . Balteus is the first of an undying hell of crazy boss fights 😂😂
I cried literal tears after beating CEL. My build was NOT the right one, but I did it anyway 😢
Honestly, the most fun I had playing a game this year since Hi-Fi Rush. The power-fantasy it provided was incredible
For some people it isn't a power fantasy though, lol
Amen to that brother. Hi-Fi and Armored core are my personal games of the year
@KentzHodiono Well, Nothing Feels More Euphoric Than Finally Beating A Boss
(We All Know Which Ones)
It isn't power fantasy, it's power reality
@@KentzHodiono dude a lot of the game isn't that hard from the beginning of the game until you hit balteus it's fairly easy not to mention regular MTS can't do much to you
GOTY.
A perfect game. Haven't noticed a single bug. Perfect gameplay. Pacing. Sound. Visuals. Not filled with loading screen. No gambling mechanics to abuse the customer. No false promises. Perfection.
Not having noticed bugs does not mean there aren't any.... There were a handful bugfixes in yesterdays patch! (nothing copared to the sites of bugfixes for several patches in a row i saw in several other big tiles lately, but there were some!
@@TheAzureGhost Compared to how insanely buggy Starfield is, or all the other AAA releases AC 6 is bugfree
SO HAPPY TO HEAR THEY WERE ALREADY FANS OF THE OLD ONES!!! Armored core 1 taught me basic math as a kid.
>"trying to not use songbirds, then going right back to songbirds"
This hits home too close. 😂
Hey that's me fighting White Glint at 0:39 😀 Honored to represent the injured wrist community 😂😂😂
"Karawasa body pillow." Holy shit! I never knew i needed something so bad lmfao
This it's the true BEST ACTION GAME OF THE 2023
Laser lance with ANY smg is literally gundam cosplay 101
This was my first Armored Core game. Honestly it’s awesome and I love it. Will gladly support the series moving forward 😀
"Strafing behind cover right when you fire all your good stuff and hitting only building!"
dear god if I had a dollar for every time this happened 😭
I can see how well these guys know about the game XD Absolutely brilliant 👌
You hit every nail with pinpoint accuracy.
I love it!
I never played the other Fromsoft games, but armored core sparked my interest in playing the souls games
Same
Please do! They are wonderful! Sure they can be tough, but I don't think they're as bad as people lead on. I Highly recommended Dark Souls 3, it's a tad more linear than the other two but it was my first From game. Elden Ring is fantastic as well.
Play DS2.
Also try out older AC games. Despite the clunky controls until Nexus, they still hold up pretty well.
@@OCTO358 Oh, i have played older ACs, i have V for my 360
Next video: "Got a job for you, 621”
This was beautiful and as a giant, old school mecha weeb this made my day. Thank you.
I mean anyone can talk like this but the fact that close to noone does it makes you unique so I respect it.
This game made me not only a Armored Core fan,but a Mecha fan in general.
"Realizing having fun was a mistake!" Sounds about right😂
This was hilariously spot on from start to finish!
Would be awesome to see you do Remnant 2!
Ducking behind cover just as you fire your good stuff! 😂😂😂
4:43 sorry kid, u are not a gundam series protagonist, this is AC6
As an Armored Core fan since the PS2 era, this Honest Trailers is spot on.
4:20 - Or they’ll make a new Another Century’s Episode game, which is Armored Core but the weeb dial is turned up to 11.
it's not weeb because they are actually Japanese 🤓
He just... wanted a callsign of his own. 😢😭
To me, it’s 10/10. I find the game more enjoyable, and easier, than most Soul’s like games.
You know you've hit the sweet spot of this game when you've purchased enough parts to start saving and loading builds, then get to customize them, give them names, and inevitably get attached.
There's something so cool about pulling out the different mechas you've spent so much rime refining and optimizing. "Hmmmm, I guess _Tearful Impact_ is not working out against this guy, but I bet _Feral Buster_ or _Golden Swift_ would do the job just fine"
It's funny, after getting all 3 endings I still want more
I'm a long time AC vet. This is bringing me out of video game retirement. My steam deck gets here in a few days. I. CAN'T. WAIT.
1:32 ACKCHUALLY, it's rubicon 4.
honestly it was by far the most straight forward and easy story line I've ever experienced in a fromsoft game....by a long shot lol.
Best game of the year for me personally. Awesome. Hopefully the love it's getting from the community ac7 will get a real budget and be even better. I love the way from soft games stop scuba playing them by making things challenging 😂 ac6 makes you feel super powerful, but on the edge of death at all times. Love it.
Not until we get a game-sized DLC or a side game first.
But we already have AC7 its called skies unknown...
@@lesslighter terrible attempt at a joke 😒

I prefer death over having a mech that looks ass xD
Do a Honest Trailer for Hyperdimension Neptunia

In ur epic voice "Sunday Sunday Sunday. Monster trucks monster trucks monster trucks. ohhhh yeah snap into a slim Jim". Um please and thank you I need this in my life😊
I absolutely relate to the gimmick one.
The other night I was trying so hard to find some use for goddamn Therapy in PvP.
I still don't get why people farmed the newbie pilot.
You can sell stuff back at full value, and by the time you beat NG++ you're going to own most the store anyway.
I farmed the newbie (and that tank from that one mission) as good ways to test out my builds and get money at the same time. Might as well get paid.
I think "Attack the Dam Complex" is better for farming. It can be easily completed in around 90 seconds for about 185,000 credits each time.

I love how personal and invested the voiceover guy talks about this lol. He's got all the nitpicks i did
Truly the greatest Gundam game of all time!
That would be Gundam 0081 (IMO)
Ah yes, my favorite part of the game, autistically scanning every inch of a map to find pieces and weapons I won’t use in the entire game
First time for everything I guess.
fromsoft game never really that overly difficult. they are just like the old school games. Nioh on the other hand make me want to throw my controller.
@@rpamungkas13Team Ninja games in that particular genre (Ninja Garden (Xbox), Nioh, Wo Long) tend to do that to people
4:35 is too real. I can't tell you how many times i double songbirded an innocent building
i love this game. even though it is small, this is my personal GOTY.
It's an even bigger mountain if you main light frame 😂
What made me cry is I tried to make the same mech as I did in ACFA, with shotguns and spread weapons....Only to find out the zimmerman is the hated meta.
Ikr
Who cares? They are meta for a reason use them
yeah and the moment I see someone uses twin zimmermans I go for my one-shot quad build

You’re the first guy that actually named off more than one meta instead of complaining about the Zimmermans.
Haven't picked this one up yet, but I looove all its predecessors! :D
Get it as soon as you can, it has surpassed every expectation I had, and I expected a LOT.
What? You're an old AC fan but somehow haven't jumped all over this yet????
I can understand if its a budget issue but otherwise WTF man???
Letting go of songbirds to then come back to songbirds!😂
Its like you know me lol
The last boss had me contemplating a few things one too many times😂 PS: I was the guy that was gonna make my build work NO MATTER WHAT
Trial by fire.
Some bend.
Some become hardcore.
The epic voice (tm) is of course amazing, but the fact that the HT team knows all the joys and pains of a game so well is what puts the narration over the top. Goddamn I can't stop watching these lol
This game has been amazing I'm having a blast
Wish it had more Frame Parts and Missions.
After NG++, I just felt empty....
I hope they come out with DLC or Spin-Offs like the other games
