I love your KISS method of teaching/training. I'm still going through them, but I'm sure there will be a good result for me

Thank you, I really appreciate the down to earth, matter of fact delivery, no sensationalism..... and, I am learning how to self induce which is my goal. I wonder: what is the difference between 'self hypnosis' and 'trance? Is there any difference?

Trance is just a word used to describe the state you reach when using hypnosis. Personally I don't like the word because it makes hypnosis sound mystical and its not. Hypnosis is simply a state of focused attention and relaxation and in that state people are more suggestable (though the level of suggestibility varies considerably from person to person).

There have been suggestions that by using self-hypnotism, one can focus and accelerate self-healing (physical and mental); Martin, can you elaborate and provide your own experiences on this subject? Thx

Should you record a hypnosis script on your phone and play it while you induce self hypnosis? I suffer from social anxiety especially in groups of people or public places where I get overwhelmed by all sorts of negative emotions and thoughts , I’m currently trying to teach myself self hypnosis but I don’t know which is best talk the script to myself internally or use a recorded script, I don’t even know how to best tattle my issues all I want is not to be intimidated by people due to low self esteem,

Saying the script to yourself internally is the usual method. You may be interested in my 6 video series on CBT for social anxiety. Here is a link to the first one th-cam.com/video/fuTzSlnFdvM/w-d-xo.html

Martin....ill find it difficult to memorise a script. But you have stated to someone, that this is the way. Is recording my own voice and script okay or not?

Yes you could do it that way but bare in mind that suggestions don't have to be word for word. As you practice more you will remember the frequent suggestions that you use.

Just thought of this... who reads the script? I wonder if there are professional voice people who will record the script. I can't just listen to my own voice and it needs to be done in the relaxing soothing way that I usually hear it on hypnosis videos.

You learn the script and say it to yourself but silently in your head. It doesn't have to be word for word correct. As long as you get the gist of it.

Dear Martin Burridge. Thank you for this video and the first one. have just subscribed in your chanel. I am sure you are a generous person who decided to put time and energy just to help people. I am a person who really holds a lot of limitting beliefs in his mind. I have been buying, watching and doing everything relating to removing limitting beliefs but, I had no luck to succeed. I recently started to watch and contact some experts in self hypnpsis to solve my problem but they were residing in America and Australia. One of them was in London. He gave me useful information but, I feel I need to be hypnotised by a hypnotist. I wonder if you could help me with this issue by hypnotising me or instructing me to take actions. I am living in central London. Thank you regards. I am waiting for your advice.

When it comes to limiting beliefs, the best therapy is CBT. Hypnotherapy is ok as a supplement but on its own is unlikely to change limiting beliefs unless they are about something like a simple phobia. For more severe problems like anxiety disorders or depression, CBT uses behavioural experiments to challenge and disprove limiting beliefs and teaches you how to reduce the behaviours that reinforce limiting beliefs. Unfortunately I am no longer able to offer one on one counselling. Instead I just try to help people who are struggling with anxiety through my videos. However you can find therapists trained in CBT in your area through the BACP find a therapist website. Here is a link www.bacp.co.uk/search/Therapists

Dear Martin. I really apologise. I forgot to mention something in my previous message. I know that helping people costs the helper time and energy and this should not be ignored. I forgot to mention my intention that I do not expect you to help me for free. I am very happily prepared to pay for your enrgy and time you will spend on solving my problem. I apologise again and wait for your decision. Thank you.
