Maybe important to note: Sseth's review is over 4 years old and the game has evolved so much you could call it a different beast entirely by now.

11:35 Yeeep, honey is an incredible wound dressing and can pick you up fast. It has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and can stop active and progressing infections as long as they are not severe. Boils, burns and ulcers can also be efficiently healed by it and there is even concentrated medical-grade honey used by medical practicioners. Of course, modern science has more effective medicines available, but dressing wounds in honey dates thousands of years back so it's a true and tried method

Old comment, but please, *don't* do this with supermarket honey, more often than not it has other things added to increase the output of honey and in a lot of brands those capacities are actually weakened, while still being very sugary, which will just feed the bacteria instead.

Ah Cataclysm seth's review was what made me first try it out, after putting in hundreds of hours and messing around with mods I can say with honesty it felt amazing learning the ins and outs of the game and how it ticked.
My favorite build by far was with using the Magiclysm mod that adds frickin wizards, dungeons and dragons monster and magic spells to the game. At the time I made what was a simple guy I started out with decent endurance and ended up becoming a Rollerblading Sith, who would whizz by packs of zombies on my skates as I shot lighting out of my hands at them before whipping out a broadsword I looted out of some guys Victorian mansion from a suit of armor. Each spell I would learn would only make the play-through more dumb it was like I turned Cataclysm into Tony Hawk's Pro Wizard. Truly it was Radical.

This game is incredibly fun once you get the hang of it, whole things been eating my life away for years now. Also beware the mighty moose, they're far more deadly than early game unevolved zombies and were one of the most common forms of new player deaths until their hostility was nerfed a bit, still keep your distance.

Replaced seats and fuel tanks with coal bunkers. And installed blades and spikes everywhere. This abomination was very slow and unreliable. Had max speed around 40 mph. But once you reach top speed - god it was terrifying omnicide engine.

  • @JoshSweetvale

Yeah, I've played this. It's a _lot_ further along these days. - 4:55 DO NOT DO THIS. He trollin'
1: Graphics are still on the level of Game Boy Color games
2: Bicycles and E-bikes are overpowered
3: Water can be obtained by combining a barrel with a puddle. No need for dehydration ever again.
4: I've just started hitting endgame with mutations and stuff. These days, if you're careful and know what to do, you can avoid bad mutations.
5: The Zombies are very Left for Dead. Other enemies are hilarious fun. A Mi-go and myself both tried breaking into a log cabin at the same time. We ran into eachother, exchanged a few shots and then both ran away :P
6: 8:55 The harder the scenario, the more points you get to boost your stats, skills and starting class. Military proffessions kinda _have_ to have a hard start (overrun base, helicopter crash, aircraft carrier zombie hell). Right now, the two 'hardest' starts are Really Bad Day and Lab Subject. The former starts you with all the debuffs in the game and no gear, and the latter starts you at the bottom of a dungeon. I've not bothered to try either yet.
9:45 Hardest ingredient to get for Pastas is the damn cheese. I've just been chucking the squirt cheese from MREs into my freezer. Very space efficient.
12:15 My greatest achievement in-game has been converting an APC into a mobile home for dungeon delving (labs, military bases, hospitals oh jesus fuck hospitals. There were _so_ many zeds.) Just being able to sleep, cook from the freezer, repair and reload in relative safety helped keep me in tip-top shape against Evangelionoid horrors.
14:40 Jabberwock blood may or may not be a _very_ powerful beast mutagen. Put it in a cola bottle.
16:50 Oh yeah, completely forgot. Combat Knife + Krav Maga (and maybe some metal armguards) is one of the best melees in the game, weighs essentially nothing (ankle sheath) and combat knives are more common than shovels. When I get spotted I always just drop my bow and backpack, draw my combat knife and toggle Krav Maga.
18:30 My endgame setup is Medical mutant. Acid immunity. Disease immunity. Rapid healing. _Pain immunity_ - which is so very overpowered.

The Honey thing goes even further.
Its basically a natural, edible disinfectant.
Due to being naturally antibacterial it also literally can't spoil or rot if you store it correctly.
So unless its full on contaminated by something, it never goes bad ever.

Regarding extraterrestrial life and Fermi's Paradox, it's important to note that we are not omniscient. Our sample size is, in a word, pathetic, and attempting to draw any sort of conclusions at this stage is almost egomaniacal.
It's like getting up in the middle of the night, looking around in your bathroom, finding no-one, and then assuming that you are the only person on earth.
As for morphology and all that, life is life. All the weird shit anyone has ever speculated about how exotic aliens might look like is just copying one or another species that already exists here on earth, usually the aquatic ones we as terrestrial mammals are less accustomed to. There's no reason to assume that there isn't going to be the same vast diversity and general obedience to physics that characterizes earthly species.
There is potential for a lot of pretty foundational differences, like in the sort of chemical makeups involved, what sort of DNA-equivalent and genetic code arise, but I somewhat doubt that that's going to significantly change what we see with our own eyes.

I had one run that was really something:
Driving car through the edge of the city, because cities is full of dead people.
One flying zombie came flying in from the opened roof of the car, the car was going about 46km/h and I was using, I think, a shotgun to fight the damn thing in the passenger seat.
Yeah, while I had to focus on not hitting something in the way, I had to also shoot and reload the gun, but I ended up dying as a bunch of zombies managed to get in front of the car and I couldn't move.

This is a perfect example of substance over longevity. Not that there isnt longevity as well. You could play this game for years in game and accumulate a million great stories. But if you want to take a break from the long term survival aspect and just have an actionpacked short story, all the simulation and scenarios still exist. Be a Road Warrior who lives fast and dies young. Just starting as a junkie with a gun can become a psychotic carnage for your next fix, all while dealing with anxiety issues, paranoid schizophrenia, and full on hallucinations.

    • @shoulderoforion115
      @shoulderoforion115 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

What are you getting at ? Which relativity bubble are you talking about? For the bubble going light speed time would speed up according to earths relativity, but they would be using their planets relativity as a basis anyway? This is without adding that interspecies, beside the idea of extraterrestrial, time is already difficult to distiguish. For instance, many flying insects interpret time a bit slower than we due, hence the quick reaction times. Adding gravity to the time dilation is another topic. Aliens might live a lot longer as well, or have a blood base that could be cryofrozen or put into a stasis, or even a natural hybernation allowing for longer travel destinations. They could be a colony too, generations of aliens who never saw where their grandparents came from. I guess Im overall confused by this question because its assuming were using human internal clocks for another entities relativity
