- Ruggie (and the rest of Savanaclaw) referring to Leona as "boss" throughout Book 2 is so widely accepted that EN-server fans will sometimes refer to Leona as "boss" as well, which is fascinating as no one actually refers to Leonas as "boss" in Book 2 of the original game.
(This video references fluentu.com’s explanation of different forms of the word “you” in Japanese)
0:04 - How Ruggie refers to Leona in the English game
0:16 - Leona as "the boss" during EN-server's Book 2

1:01 - "You" in Japanese
2:27 - "Anta" in the game
I always found it weird that characters say another name yet it's not in the subtitles. Like Jack saying something about Leona to wake up when you are doing history lessons, yet in the subtitles it doesn't show. Which is weird why the English translation team just remove things or unable to replace the lines well, messing up many characters and how they are perceived
Thank you again as usual. It is sad that the subtle change between Leona and Ruggie cannot be conveyed in English properly, but that’s just how it is. However, thank you for making video about it cause now more fans can learn and appreciate the TW’s writing at least a lil bit more
Thank you so much for your kind comment! ^^.I love the game so much, it is amazing, and I really want to encourage other people to love it, too!
My English friends use to tease me when I speak their name with honorifics and because I was too shy to say their given name. Now, we can joke with "bicchan (bitch-chan)" and "ho-sama" 😂
Cool!
💀 Eng sub is weird dude, i played the jp long time ago and i remembered them being respectful and used their -san/-senpai in every names. Now the freakin 'taku' aka 'tsk' from Leona became 'shesh' just cringe the heck out of me lmao.... Eng sub made them rude and cringe lil high school kids for no reason
According to the original JP dub...they are in high school.
@@mackenziewoloschuk7375 yep I know that, but the point is editor team missed whole jp culture with their respectful pronounce and stuffs. This made my impression decreased from elite highschool/college mages to rude and full of teencode gen Z cringy sht on the internet. If ya understand what I'm trying to say lol.
love u
