Seen one of these or maybe even this one go through Barrett Jackson Scottsdale auction. Don't remember what is sold for though but I was liking it even though I'm a Bronco boy at heart. I had one of these back in the 80's for a little bit
Soooooooooooo nice!!!! I need the LS in my 80....that or a diesel. Hard choice to make if I was going to do a swap. Could you so something like an 8,9 or 10 speed transmission with the LS swap so the MPG would be optimal?
Gas or diesel... neither is a bad choice, just different styles and driving experience. We are looking at the 8L90 transmission for future swaps, it should deliver a little better mileage than the 6 speed, though not a huge change. There aren't currently any adapters for the modern 10-speeds.
Very nice build. Thank you for sharing. I'm making minor changes to my 1985 FJ60, but at some point I'm going to hit my limit of knowledge and expertise. How do I find out total cost of a LS motor replacement such as this? Thanks again.
How much does the swap generally run? I just took my 60 into a shop here in Colorado Springs, and I’m considering doing an LS swap for the power/reliability…..but I’m afraid of what I might be expecting price wise. Truly appreciate ya.
Depends from shop to shop. But should run 10-15k in labor and then parts. Ls3 erod is about 10k, trans about 3k misc parts around 5k? And then of course while it’s being torn apart you’re offered a bunch of “while you’re in there” fixes depending on the truck’s condition
Love it. Nice work guys. I have a 60 body restored. Next step is the powertran

Very nice work!
Very nice and clean mate.
Beautiful Land Cruiser. I get the reason and benefit for the LS but man I couldn’t do it. Gonna swap in a 3UR-FE when my 80 needs it.
Would love a detailed video on the wiring harness for the LS3 e rod into the FJ60’s
Wow saweet build up! Thanks for sharing!
So clean! Great job!
Doing a 1987 911 now w an LS3 Erod to be compliant in CA.
Nice color mate 🙂

Beautiful
I know this is older video, but I also want to do a coilspring front end on a FJ60. Please help me.
If you hit the Google machine some guy sells the brackets to swap 80 series axles into a 60 series.

Beautiful rig! Thanks for sharing. Can you tell me your wheel and tire set up? Ie who makes the rims? Thanks.
They are Toyota steel wheels from the FJ Cruiser, 17x7.5 size. The tires are 285/70-17 BFG K02's.
Love it
What radiator setup do you guys use here?
Does this engine swap work with the stock gauges?
Very nice build, what wheels are those?
Steel wheels from an FJ Cruiser
Cost of engine swap and parts? Ballpark. I have an 84’ FJ60.
