Hi great little plane. I've got 1.but the RTF. DOWN SIDE FRONT LANDING GEAR TO WEAK....WHERE IT JOINS THE FUSELAGE. the good side is
It dose every thing apart from making toast... Your options are
    GPS so you have RTH
you can set your own fencing so if you go to far away it turns round on its own and circles above you
Its got safe it's got AS3Xstyle
OR you CAN TURN THE WHOLE LOT OFF AND JUST FLY OR HAVE A MIXTURE...
You always do a good honest review

Despite the poor designed landing gear which I've improved on it's one of my nicest planes to fly.

It flies good but with poorly designed nose gear as it breaks on rougher impacts.

    Hello you all!
Ik got this plane a few days ago and can tell you I fly's great and not really fast.
But then after draining a couple of 950 batteries and 10+ landings in field the nose wheel broke of. Not only that, but also the inside of the steering construction that normally is'nt visible now came loose and took some foam peases with it. I was able to glue it to almost new, but then the real shit happened. After the baby crash the plane acted stranges an throttled dow after a minute of flying. First I thought, maybe I forgot to charge the battery, but also battery 4 an 5 did exactly the same. At that time we were full of question marks and checked all the parts to see what was wrong. Fist thing we noticed after removing the main wing how hot the ESC and receiver where. Strange we thought! Than I noticed the propeller was sitting more loose than when we bought it. And while touching it, it fell off the drive shaft (completely with spinner in all) Even more strange....!!! But then when inspecting part by part I touched the motor and burned my fingers, it was really hot🤬. Why is the motor so hot after a little non significant nose wheel landing. !!??
This all was to much for us to investigate on a field so we headed home to look for answers and new parts.
While my son was busy looking for new parts I found out (to late) the tiny rudder servo that also is controlling the nose wheel was kinda overcooking himself and almost went up in flames. I pulled the battery loose when I noticed a chemical smell and saw some smoke. I disconnected the battery as fast as I could, but it was to late to prevent the servo from burning out completely. Because the hot servo melted away also the pocket where he sat in, it was easy to take him out the fuselage.
But then the thinking started making my brains go nuts. What brings us from a broken nose wheel to a hot ESC, motor, receiver and a fried servo ?
Well, don't let me push this cliffhanger to the max an tell you what happened (according to our findings) Now you hear also what an impact a mall mechanical part can do to your €150 plane and make it almost into garbage in less tha 30 minutes.
    Let's start with explaining:
When repairing the nose wheel wit UHU por glue I did not noticed (and also forgot to think) about the rotating part inside the plane. After a day of suffering and pain we now think that it all started with the nose wheel mechanism that we glued on. Some glue must have seeped through the bottom, preventing the rotating part to move freely as it does out of the box.
That I hadn't noticed and therefor the servo (that controles the nose wheel and the rudder) had a hard time to do his job and got stuck.
We think this bad servo caused this chain reaction and triggered the ESC to go into a protection mode and cut of the voltage after some time. Because we tried it several times everything was getting to hot and the motor heated up so much that the little screw in the spinner melted his way through the plastic.
We think this is the right story, because now the bad servo is out of the plane everything works like a sharm.
Now you probably think, now you know. Stop crying, buy some new parts and try again.
Well that's easier be sad than done, because I live here in the Nederlands and most FMS dealers around here don't have all the parts available. That's a real shame, because in my opinion you should have a reasonable stock of spare parts of all the planes you sell.
Now I need to buy everything I need on 3 different places and with extra high shipping costs and with approx. 2 weeks shipping time.
Servo was only available at HorizonHobby.com but dutch sellers can't buy here.
Horizon-Hobby.de and FMS.com don't sell the servo's and missing some othe parts to.
A nice plane for beginners, till you needs parts.....

Thanks for sharing. The poor thing on this plane is the nose gear which is a bit of a shame as it is a great little plane.

Thanks! It is a nice plane and fly great just like a trainer should. Nose wheel is the weak part but it still holds after some tweaking.

Thanks for the review. Does the rtf version have a stand alone reflex gyro or is it built into the receiver ? I may purchase this plane but I want to use a spektrum receiver and also want to keep the reflex gyro in the plane for the self leveling capabilities. If I change receivers I don’t want to lose the gyro capabilities. I have the 1800 ranger and the reflex gyro works great for me. Thanks

Hi. I really like your reviews and your choices of aircraft. I have some of the same models.
What I am really really interested in is if you could possibly go through a detailed setup of your AR637T receiver using AS3X and Safe as I would like to do the same with my Ranger 850mm. Or even better, and I hate to ask this as I have nothing to offer in return, if you could publish or make available the .SRM file you would have created for your 850.
I am working my way through your other videos too. Thank you so very much for your efforts. Your honest reviews very much appreciated.

I’m glad you appreciate my videos. I do them as I go along experience this fun hobby.
I could share my setup file but it might be better to set it up for each model as it wont work just to apply the same settings. So a new setting for each plane is best even if they are the same model.
Spektrum do setup videos that are good but I’ll consider doing one for the AR637T and AR630 as I’ve done so many now. It can be a bit tricky to get everything to work doing it the first time.

@@SunriseRCAviator Anything you can provide would be most welcome. I've watched many Spektrum videos but get more confused the more videos I watch...lol At least I would be able to relate to your setup with the 850, even if there needed to be some changes made.
By the way, I have all three of the FMS Rangers. The front wheel weakness is a seriously weak point with both the 850 and the 1800mm models, even thought the 1800 has spring loaded front suspension setup. On the 1800 the aluminium used in the outer casing is extremely soft and bends incredibly easily. The 1220 model is fantastic. Maybe doesn't look too exciting but works the best I have seen on any model, any size.
